Helping one another is an essence that cannot be taught in any classroom across the world. The feeling comes from within. Does it make any difference if you decide to become a one-man army? It probably does to an individual or a family up to an extent. However, it becomes easier to help less-fortunate people, who are in large numbers through several Charitable Trust and Social Organisation. Navi Mumbai houses many such organizations, which are run and backed by some kind-hearted and passionate people.
Here are some of the popular charitable trusts and social organizations in Navi Mumbai:
- Robin Hood Army Navi Mumbai
Founded back in August 2014, RHA started off by feeding about 150 people and kept on expanding ever since. Picking a leaf from the English folklore of Robinhood’s heroic deed, the Army works dexterously to distribute surplus food from restaurants to less privileged across the city. The Army is multiplying their force, to gather food for 1 million people in India and Pakistan. The volunteers mainly include students and young professionals. They lend their helping hand to people staying at night shelters, orphanages, patients from public hospitals, and homeless families. If you are encouraged enough to contribute to the cause, give no second thought to it!
- Helen Keller Institute for Deaf & Deafblind
Started off from a small room with 3 teachers and only 2 pupils, the premier organization was founded in 1977. With the vision to make differently-abled kids, abled through proper training, education, and rehabilitation, they promote their belief to ‘give every person every right that you claim for yourself’. Because happy and smiling faces is all it takes to lighten up the world and tune up the rhythm in everyone’s lives!
