The current work of the NMMC has an activist in Navi Mumbai fuming. The reason? Harmful fumes. Since FIFA u-17 World Cup has left the city to look forward to something enthralling, the NMMC wanted to make sure the city is in a presentable condition because you know, the city doesn’t need to look so for the citizens who literally live there, and now only have they remembered the poor conditions of the roads.
Yes, they are now focusing on making the making the roads better, but does an estimable event have to occur every time some attention needs to be paid to the concerning issue of the city?
Anyhow, as part of the FIFA preparations, the roads are currently being micro- surfaced. But what contractors din’t do was take permission from the civic body to carry on with the chemical processing of mixing tar to icro-surface the roads. And what has this lead to? Complaints from the citizens of harmful fumes being dispersed in to the air.
According to TOI, this is what the activist said ” I will seek an FIR against those responsible for causing air pollution, if no action is taken by the civic body in this regard”. And another point added by the activist was that it was really important to minimize the pollution so it can be less micro surfacing process can be less harmful and can help the city make a good impression on the visiting foreign tourists and sportspersons.
