  • Banter Between Generations!

Parenting is a minefield- as say the (other)wise! The blasts hit you a bit harder when you plunge into parenthood thinking you are too well-equipped and have done your homework well. All set with seat-belts fastened, its only after the take-off that the reality of the out-of-syllabus tribulations hits- one stage at a time. And they hit you real hard!

Far from being a perfectly poised parent, to a petty parent and now a parent who became a poet…I’m barely managing not being flung off this roller coaster each day and at every stage.

    Banter between Generations

My son stepped into his teens 4 years back. Since then we have savored each other’s taunts for breakfasts, ‘I hate you Ma’, I hate you too baby’ for lunches and fiery face-offs for many a dinner and survived each other. The only constant in the unpredictable journey has been the underlying humor which is a family trait. My son inherited my husband’s wit. He seasons it with some of mine and tempers it well with his own trademark one-liners.

On one of the many epic face-off days, when the three of us lost it with each other, was laid the foundation of this banter. The journey of writing it was full of fireworks and disagreements galore.

The most heartwarming is the aftermath. The journey I’m living now performing this piece with my brat. Every vent out on the stage at various forums is making us connect better. We are not just improvising and improving this piece but unknowingly also all the inner connections and bonds. After we finish the piece each time, that wicked glance that says ‘Not bad, Ma!’ makes me step forward to hug him. But then I get a stern, ‘No, PDAing. It’s just too embarrassing Ma” look!

This Children’s Day onwards lets bridge all generation gaps playfully and happily! Speak up, vent out and let them too! For, despite all its tribulations, parenthood certainly is the most beautiful flight! And teenage the best age to make memories and wake up to so many new things life will bring along. Poetry of Parenting Yes, I took it too seriously, Equipped with all the gyan, My parenting journey had to be Of perfect poise and élan, Instead, I found myself flunking and flouting, Facing coups inside, Yet on the outside, pouting! A decade and a half and a little more, Of madness, moments and more. Yes, I survived after stumbling galore, To emerge a poet after a furor. Where and when our wavelengths matched, To get together and do this banter Lay ourselves bare to the core I’m still wondering and am just not sure!

  • 4 Things Rich Do That the Poor Don’t

It hurts when truth is spilled and exposed. So, in this article we are going cover some actions the rich take while the poor neglect. Either because they don’t have the knowledge or simply they don’t want to. Generating wealth is a combination of factors and the 4 items mentioned in this list below will not guarantee success but will greatly improve your chances.

Rich people Read – A Lot.

Here is an interesting fact: Top CEOs in the world read up to 50 books a year while an average person reads 1.5 per year and it’s usually fictional or romance.

They sacrifice the present for the future.

Rich people start early. How early? The best moment to start your journey was 10 years ago. The second-best time was yesterday. The third best, is right now. Because of constantly reading and educating themselves through the books, they know that things just don’t happen overnight. So, they start grinding and sacrifice the moment and invest the most important thing in their side, TIME, into their goals. While the Poor go partying, the future Rich hustle. The poor watch TV and the rich read self-development books. While you waste your time doing nothing, the future rich invest in their craft. We all have 24 hours in a day but the rich and the poor use it differently.

Go all in on their strengths

A strong differentiating factor between rich and the poor is that they try to get to know themselves as much as possible. They actively try to find out what they want to do with their life and then they do everything they can to get better at that one thing. If you have got a talent that give you an unfair advantage over the rest, bet on it. That doesn’t mean you need to be born special, you just need to want to want it more and be willing to put in the work. Remember, hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t put in the work. The only way you’ll never be great at anything, is trying to be great at everything. Let’s take our education system for an example, a child is great at computers but is lacking behind on his French. What do parents do? They get him a French tutor. Parents do their best to ensure their kids are as mediocre as everyone else is and instead of giving them more resources to develop they are already passionate about. It’s shocking how people have such a vague idea is to what their passions are and even less of them put any efforts behind developing that into a useful skill. The rich on the other hand find it, and go all in on it.

Believe they are responsible for their own fate

Successful people rely on themselves and themselves alone. While the poor, they look for opportunities to make excuses. It’s because of the government, it’s because of the market crises, it’s because I’m not good enough, I never get the credits I deserve, I never get lucky. All of them are bunch of bullshit. The road to success or financial success is not an easy one and sorry to say this but, unless you’re born into a very rich family, you’ll have to work it yourself. If you are smart, you can speed up the pace but nonetheless there are no shortcuts to success. Rich people don’t blame others for their misfortunes. They don’t expect the government to take care of them. They take charge or their own life and craft it the way they want it. Something to remember, if you are not building your own life, someone else will hire you to build theirs! Stop with the excuses, 86% of millionaires and billionaires are self-made. That’s almost 9 out of 10 built their own fortunes, from scratch through hard work and by being smart about it. They are the masters of their own fate. What about you? Are you going to steer your own boat or let the currents take you wherever? It’s time to make your choice.

  • 4 Dumb advises people give you.

Okay, buckle up, we are going to burn some bridges today. The world is filled with people who don’t amount to much but are willing to share the recipe for success. You’ve seen them all around you, Facebook, Instagram, your best friends or even your family. Although they mean well, and they might generally have the best interest at heart. The advice they give you is not always the best. Not that it’s any fault of their own. They have been fed these misleading quotes and pieces of what they consider ‘knowledge’ ever since they were little and have grown to know them as facts. Which really does more harm than good. Fair warning guys, we are about the tear down all those quotes you have proudly been sharing. If you are easily offended, so what? The world doesn’t care and neither do we.
