With the approval to give to give 22.5% of developed plots as compensation to project-affected persons (PAPs), the key infrastructure projects in Navi Mumbai have received a great boost. The land of PAP was acquired by CIDCO.

Bhushan Gagrani, vice-chairman and managing director, CIDCO said, “As we adopted the compensation plan for NMIA, other project affected persons also demanded something similar. We had expected this”
With this decision made, there will much fewer oppositions which will make the land acquisition process faster easier
The senior bureaucrats believe that the land acquisition for infrastructure projects in the state will be the administration’s biggest challenge.
In the past, the state struggled to acquire lands for major projects like Mumbai-Nagpur Expressway project, NMIA, a proposed oil refinery in Ratnagiri district, Jaitapur Nuclear power plant.
A CIDCO official said, “We will go with the new package during the land acquisition at Nhava for the Mumbai trans-harbour link project. The scheme will also be implemented for the dedicated freight corridor (DFC), Nerul-Uran railway line and for the projects under Navi Mumbai Airport Influence Notified Area (NAINA)”
