The news of Firecrackers Ban declared in Delhi has spread faster than a wildfire. While some welcomed this Supreme Court’s judgment, for others the news dropped like a bomb!
Apparently, in the latest judgment, the apex court of India banned the sale of firecrackers till November 1 to control pollution in the national capital. But a vast number of people in Maharashtra, especially in Mumbai were certainly anticipating the same.
Meanwhile, Maharashtra environment minister and Shiv Sena Leader, Ramdas Kadam have come out in full support for celebrating a pollution-free Diwali. He also assured to take up the matter with the Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis.
“The Supreme Court gave its decision that there should not be firecrackers shops in residential areas.
Keeping peoples’ health in mind, and there should be no pollution and for this, everybody should take care,” Kadam told reporters in Mumbai.
He said that the Maharashtra chief minister had promised students that there should be no pollution. “Celebrations should be cracker-free,” Kadam said.

“I will talk to Fadnavis and request if we can also ban crackers in Maharashtra on lines of the Supreme Court order for Delhi,” Kadam was quoted as by saying.
Did you read that right? Well,…it is a ban on the sale of firecrackers, and not bursting them. So, people who already have a stock of firecrackers ready, they can burst it!
Some are giving this issue a political angle by calling it an attack on Hinduism and some supporting it for the right reason. i.e., Pollution!
