“Folks are usually about as happy as they make their minds up to be.” ― Abraham Lincoln
Navi Mumbaikars seem to be aware of the concept that is described in the famous quote by Abraham Lincoln. More than 5,000 city dwellers participated in Happy Streets on November 23 (Sunday). The event was organized at the Palm Beach Road for city residents wherein they observed the entire stretch vehicle-free, to spread the awareness about road safety.
There was a gigantic wall, which was decorated with makeshift pledge and road safety messages. Shubham Tandel, one of the participants said, “Happy Streets has inculcated among the people awareness about road safety.”
Street painting was another highlight of the day. Children actively participated in the event by turning the entire stretch into a huge canvas.
“The response for street art was quite encouraging. The participants were visibly happy,” stated Sanjeevan N from Prajapati Group.
Over 150 people came out for participating in rent-free cycle facility. Happy Streets extravaganza was organized by Navi Mumbai Traffic Police in collaboration with NMMC.
