So, if you want your skin to look healthy and glowing from within that’ll help up your makeup game and help you brace the Christmas spirit, then below are some tips on how to prep your skin for the D day.

    1. The basic five

In case you don’t know what basic five is, it is the regular 5 steps for basic skin care. Cleanse, exfoliate, tone, treatment and moisturize. So, of course, these steps go without saying. Just make sure these steps are tailor-made to suit your skin type

2. Give your face a good steam

This is an OG method of skincare. Your mom has done it, your grandma has done it, and probably her mom and grandma too, because this is the most affordable and effective way of skincare. It opens up your pore and increases blood circulation.

Extra tip: Do a steam before moisturizing and any other kinds treatments, your skin will absorb the product more efficiently.

3. Always do a face mask few days(preferably 3 days before) before any special event

Keep one thing in mind, when it comes to face masks, it gets worse before it gets amazing. Doing a face mask few days before the main event is wise. A face mask not only deep cleanses your skin, but will also bring all the impurities to the surface of the skin. Hence that’ll cause some breakouts. Give them time to heal and your face will be healthy and glowing

4. Moisturise your body

Your body skin is important too, so don’t forget to give it some love too. Give your body a good massage with a body lotion you like. Try adding a few drops of glycerine or any carrier oil (olive, coconut, almond, castor, argan, jojoba etc.) to give your body more intense moisturization,

5. Give your lips some TLC too

Chapped lips ain’t pretty. So follow the same steps as you would with your face. Treat your lips with some good lip mask and lip scrub. It’ll get rid of all those chapped and dry dead skin. One these two steps are done, slather a generous amount of lip balm, and there you go your lips will be all puckered up and supple.

6. Eat right

Okay, eat right doesn’t necessarily mean eat healthy. Of course, eat all the healthy food as much as you can, but if you crave your guilty pleasures, do indulge in them in moderation. Do not be hard on yourself, that’ll only likely cause binge eat, which is a big no-no.

7. Drink plenty of water

You’ve heard and read this over a million times. So, um, read it again, drink water. A lot of water. Water is highly essential to cleanse your blood and give it enough oxygen. But enough water at regular intervals, but do not chug so much all at one. That’ll just bloat your tummy and give your bladder hella number of bathroom trips. You don’t want that, do you?
