Majority of women of today’s generation have the golden ticket to pursue what their heart desires. It’s an era where women are getting as many chances as men. To even accelerate more support, the nation has come up with many initiatives like ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’
And here’s a good news that furthermore shows that women are indeed making their mark with polished skills and proficiency: India recently recorded the maximum number of women pilots in the world, according to Minister of State for Civil Aviation Jayant Sinha. Such an inspiring piece of news for women and for the country, don’t you think.
At the gathering for the jubilee celebration of the India Women Pilots Association (IWPA), Jayant Sinha addressed the audience by saying “India is the country with maximum number of women pilots in the world, be it in Air India or Indian Air Force. This is a testimony of the contribution made by women to the aviation sector and also by the country to their careers”
He also said “While the presence of women has contributed to the progress of the aviation sector, their support is still needed to strengthen the area,”
India’s first female pilot of the Indian Navy, Shubhangi Swaroop, as well as Aastha Sehgal, Roopa A and Sakthimaya S who are Naval Armament Inspection Branch’s first female officers, are some great examples that women can look up to today.
The event was also attended by Air Chief Marshal Birender Singh Dhanoa who also lauded the contribution of women to the aviation sector.
