Man Succumbs to Death After Drowning in Panvel Pond

A 35-year-old man drowns in an attempt to swim across Panvel’s Walavali pond in Navi Mumbai.

A usual Monday morning of Panvel took a drastic turn when a 35-year-old man’s body was pulled out from a pond in New Panvel. A rescue team carried out the search operation for more than 12 hours and fished out the body from Walavali pond.

Although, the relatives of the deceased man are alleging that his friends must have purposefully pushed him into the pond.

According to the statement of the Khandeshwar police, the man may have drowned in his attempt to swim across the pond because his body had zero injury marks. Nitin Naik, the deceased, works as a security guard in a city’s college.

Apparently, Naik went to party near the pond where five of his friends were also supposed to show up. Unfortunately, he attempted to swim across the pond, but could not make it to the other side and drowned, claimed one of his friends to the police.
