Music Replay 2017 – Top 7 Bollywood Hit Songs

2017 is heading towards it’s final act, but as we wait for the curtain call, we can’t help but look back at what a great year it was. 2017 saw some hits and some misses, but in the end, musically it was on a high! As you gear up to party the night away and welcome 2018, here’s a quick recap at all the hit songs of the year that’ll surely get you grooving on the 31st night.

1.       Laila

A remix of the cult classic with Zeenat Aman, Laila main Laila, made for a superb dance number in Shah Rukh Khan’s box office hit movie, Raees. Sunny Leone and her smooth dance moves had everyone revisiting this old hit song. And boy, are we ready to bring it on at the party or what!

2.       Tamma Tamma Again

Another rehashed song, this Sanjay Dutt-Madhuri Dixit song has come back and how! With one of the best dancers in the current Bollywood brigade, Varun Dhawan showed us some fancy moves with Alia Bhatt. And suddenly, we can hear people go Tamma Tamma all over again.

3.       Suit Suit

An original, but again, not so much. Suit Suit, originally, a part of an album by Guru Randhawa debuted in the emotional movie, Hindi Medium. A welcome break from all the overflow of emotions in the movie, it was refreshing to see Irfan Khan groove to this Punjabi mix. Let’s just say, this new avatar – tenu suit suit karda!

4.       Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast

Looks like 2017 was all about remixes, but hey, who’s complaining? Abbas-Mastan’s forgettable movie Machine, did have one hit song – a cool version of Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast. This remix, hit all the 90s kids with a wave of nostalgia and the young ones picked it up even faster.

5.       Raabta

A music list and no mention of Arijit Singh? Not happening! Ik Vaari from Raabta, an original composition did much better than the film itself. Composed by Pritam and penned by Amitabh Bhattacharya, this melodious tune is sure to stand the test of time.

6.       Ban Meri Rani

While Tumhari Sulu (much to our surprise), didn’t do so well at the box office, it’s song Ban Meri Rani by Guru Randhawa sure did have better luck. Looks like our Punjabi song fetish, is here to stay.

7.       Chalti Hai Kya 9 se 12

This list can’t end, without mentioning this hit 90s remix. Varun Dhawan with his two leading ladies, Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu got us all back on our feet with this gigantic hit! From Zumba classes to birthday parties to even pubs and breweries, this song is everywhere. And no matter how many times you here it, you can’t help but sing along.

We can go on and on with this list, but this should be enough to add to a pre-New Year party playlist. So, put on your dancing shoes, turn on the loud speaker and get dancing to Bollywood’s hit songs of 2017. 2018 has its work cut out for it!
