Natural Remedies To Get Rid Of Hyper-pigmentation

The dark skin and ugly patches on your face or other body parts like neck, arms, legs etc. are because of the excessive production of melanin in your body that leads to these dark spots on your face or body parts. This excessive production of melanin is responsible for factors such as hormonal issues, pregnancy, certain diseases, exposure to sun’s UV rays, injury, or even emotional stress. Your skin may also get into hyperpigmentation when it comes in contact with some harmful chemicals like those in cosmetic products or soaps etc.

Here are some easy home remedies to get rid of hyperpigmentation naturally.

1) Raw Potato

Raw potato works very well to help lighten your hyperpigmented skin as well as other spots and scars on the skin. Potatoes contain an enzyme called catecholase which helps to lighten the skin tone.

a) All you have to do is, peel a potato and cut it into thick slices. Put a few drops of water on the surface of a potato piece. Now rub it on your skin for 5 to 10 minutes. Then rinse it off with lukewarm water. Repeat this 3-4 times a day for at least a month.

b) Grate one medium-size potato and squeeze the juice out of it. Add an equal amount of lemon juice to it and mix well. Gently apply the solution on the pigmented area of your skin and leave it on for about 20 to 30 minutes before washing it off. Do this twice daily in a month.

2) Lemons

Lemons are popular to cure skin pigmentation as it contains citric acid which helps to bleach the skin. This acid helps to fade the dark blemishes on your skin effectively, particularly on your face. What you need to follow is mentioned below:

Firstly, extract the lemon juice and rub it on your affected skin area by using a cotton ball. Keep it for about 10 or 15 minutes. Finally, rinse your skin off with water. Keep doing this remedy twice a day. Repeat every day for a few months until you see the improvement

Dilute the lemon juice with a little water before applying it on your skin if your skin is sensitive.

3) Cucumber

Cucumber not only treats acne scars but also reduce pigmentation very efficiently. Cucumber can also be used as a bleaching agent. It helps rejuvenate your skin and improves its complexion as well.

Here’s the method:

Take 1 tbsp of honey, 1 tbsp of cucumber juice, 1 tbsp of lemon juice in a bowl and mix it well. Apply this mixture on your skin. Wash off with water after 10 minutes. Do it 2 times a day on a regular basis.

4) Apple cider vinegar

Apple cider vinegar is packed with chemicals that remove dark spots. It is rich in citric acid, glycolic acid, and lactic acid. These acids bleach the dark spots and also exfoliate the dead skin present on the surface.

Dip a cotton ball in diluted apple cider vinegar and dab it directly on the dark spots. Keep it for 20 minutes and wash it off with cold water.

5)Aloe vera

Aloe vera has many medicinal properties that help treat skin infections. It hydrates the skin and removes excess oil from the pores. Aloe vera helps in the regeneration of new skin cells by removing the dead cells which eventually reduces the dark spots.

Extract the gel out of the fresh aloe vera leaf. Apply it to your skin and wash it off after 30 minutes. You can repeat this on a daily basis for a clear and spotless skin.
