6 Natural ways to get rid of Holi colours

So the after effects of Holi are not permanent

Holi is coming near, and I am very sure that everybody is excited to head to the playground, splash water, throw colours, and enjoy this joyous occasion with their loved ones. But, Holi is also the time of immense damage to your hair and skin. As it is the festival of colours, at the end of the day, you are going to end up looking as colorful as a rainbow or as scary as a ghost. But, don’t you worry I will help you get your original look back.

Here are few home remedies that can save you from the damage caused by the Holi colours:

1) Castor Oil or Olive Oil

Oiling your hair with castor oil or olive oil before going out to play Holi is going to protect your hair from all the damage caused by the harmful colours.

2) Egg Yolk or Curd

Never shampoo your hair immediately after playing Holi as it causes more damage. Instead, apply egg yolk or curd mask on your hair for 45 minutes before shampoo. The mask will help you remove the colours causing less damage.

3) Coconut Oil

Applying coconut oil on your exposed body parts before soap will aid in removing the harmful colours easily. Just rub the lemon wedges on your skin with a mixture of coconut and wheat flour.

4) Amchur Powder

Instead of washing your face with face wash, wash your face with soaked amchur powder. Avoid excessively washing your face as that can cause dryness and irritation.

5) Multani Mitti

Soak Multani mitti in water before you head out to play. After coming back and washing your face with amchur powder, apply this pack. Once the pack is dried, rinse it off.

6) Glycerin

If your skin is still feeling itchy, apply the combination of glycerin and rose water. Keep it for few minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.

If you carefully follow all the steps mentioned above, you would get your glowing look back quickly and safely. Spread the colours of joy and stop the use of harmful colours.
