Police Patrolling dwindles, making way for more rash driving and stunt biking imbeciles

Okay, let’s sidetrack from the currently very talked about unhinged minds of the Karni Sena, protesting the upcoming Bollywood movie Padmavati in the name of culture, and focus on the lesser known dimwits who think they’re reaaally cool to perform dangerous bike stunts on the streets of Belapur.

I know, it feels dismal to be hit with the realization that these people have drawn the nation’s attention (and even more dismal that I am too a contributor to it). Like, yeah sure, let’s talk about petty protests and wannabe fast and furious-ers instead of knocking our socks off by knowing that the constellation of Aquarius has seven earth-sized planets.

Back to Navi Mumbai. The duty of the traffic police in Belapur is being questioned by residents as there has been a rise in the number of complaints against rookie bikers, who are causing trouble by performing unsupervised stunts on the roads.

To add to the misery of residents, an underage son of a cop living in Belapur police colony, was caught by residents for racing on a bike that had a police logo on it. This resulted in the father, who is a constable with the Nerul police station to pay a hefty fine.

“The boy escaped getting hurt at least twice. At first, the local police wanted to take the boy to the station so that the traffic police could book him for the violation, but we insisted that the process be completed in front of us. The police ought to understand the gravity of the menace and revive the patrolling seen  until few months back ” – Prabhat jain, resident

The boy who was caught by residents finally was fined Rs.1000 for rash driving.

“Roads in Belapur’s sector 9 are being blatantly used as racing tracks only because there is no patrolling here. The roads are also used as hangout places for consuming alcohol. The traffic authorities need to take the matter seriously before any untoward incident happens,” – Neha Jain, resident.

More imbeciles coming your way, for this pressing issue doesn’t only bother the residents of Belapur, but also residents of:

  • Sector 3, Nerul,
  • Sector16, Sanpada,
  • Sector 19, Palm beach road
  • Sector 19A, Nerul

Jayraj Chapriya, Belapur senior police assured that the patrolling hasn’t stopped and will make sure to increase the frequency if need be. While the Nerul police have asked residents to dial 100 for alerting them about the presence pesky stunt bikers.
