With FIFA Under-17 World Cup all set to premiere in Navi Mumbai, the city traffic police department braced up to take complete control of security and traffic situations during the game.
Thousands of football enthusiasts have already booked their seats at the DY Patil stadium, Nerul, for the live match. As the date of the FIFA Under-17 World Cup is nearing, the anticipation of an enormous number of people pouring into the city is rising day-after-day.
Out of the overall strength of 419 personnel in the traffic department, 287 cops, comprising of 34 officers of the police sub-inspector rank and above will be deployed in the periphery of DY Patil Stadium at Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
During the five days matches, which will be hosted by the city, as many as 68.5 percent of the traffic deployment will be scheduled in 2 shifts, said the DCP (Traffic), Nitin Pawar.
They will also make sure that no one parks their vehicles in proximity to the already available parking slots at Tandel ground, Seawood Mall, Little Mall, Kharghar, two parking slots near Uran Phata and Raheja Centre. In fact, there will be no parking space available around the stadium, up to Shani temple.
