Daan Utsav is the festival of philanthropy also known as the joy of giving week aims to be the part of Indian ethos. This week is celebrated every year by engaging people through the act of giving money, time, resources, and skills to the underprivileged sections of the society.
A volunteer-based organisation, The Robin Hood Army put their efforts to get surplus food from restaurants and distributes it amongst the poverty-stricken needy people in various cities of India.
The part of this organization in Navi Mumbai has been carrying out food drives for more than a year. Adding to this, they are also teaching underprivileged kids in various parts of the city. The kids will be endorsed to participate in sports, hand drawings, and practice yoga.
Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) has taken the initiative by supporting them and providing them temporary spaces to conduct these classes at 5 places- Vashi, Sanpada, Kharghar, Kalamboli, and Airoli.
If you wish to support them, you can sign up to be a teacher this weekend to join them and spread the happiness with these lovely kids.
The initiative will be held till 8th of October, 5 pm to 7 pm.
