Shashi Kapoor who starred in Junoon, Satyam Shivam Sundaram, and Deewar, passed away today at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital in Mumbai. He was 79. For quite some time he was spotted by media in a wheelchair. According to Randhir Kapoor, his nephew, The Kalyug actor had been ailing from a kidney problem for a long time and had been undergoing Dyalisis.
“Yes, he has passed away. He had kidney problem since several years. He was on dialysis for several years,” said Randhir Kapoor.
The hospital confirmed that the actor passed away at 5.20 pm. The funeral will be held on Tuesday.
Once the news spread, several people and personalities like Narendra Modi, Yuvraj Singh, and Bipasha Basu took to Twitter to pay their respect and offer their condolences.
