All three are administered under Maharashtra’s Right to Public Services Act through the Revenue Department. Confirm which certificate the requesting organisation actually needs; they are not interchangeable.
A caste certificate and a caste or tribe validity certificate are different documents. The validity application route depends on the applicant’s category and the responsible scrutiny committee: BARTI operates CCVIS for most categories, while Scheduled Tribe validity has a separate eTribe Validity system under the Tribal Development Department. Follow the current official route for your category; we have not tested either application through submission. Non-Creamy Layer is a further separate certificate, with its own Aaple Sarkar service page listing income proof and a caste certificate as mandatory supporting documents. EWS eligibility and procedure are outside this guide’s scope.

The Age, Nationality and Domicile, Caste, and Income certificates are applied for through Aaple Sarkar (aaplesarkar.mahaonline.gov.in), confirmed live on 28 September 2026, with all three still listed there. A separate banner about services moving to the MAITRI portal applies to business and industrial services, not to these three certificates.
Evidence to Check Before Applying
Aaple Sarkar’s own service pages returned different levels of detail during our checks: the Caste Certificate page listed multiple specific document categories, while the Domicile and Income pages sometimes displayed a fuller checklist and at other times an incomplete response. This inconsistency is a reason to treat the official page as your starting point rather than a final answer, not evidence that these services require no supporting evidence.

Confirm the current document requirements in the application or with an authorised service centre, especially if the public page does not display a usable checklist. For the Caste Certificate specifically, selecting one item from a listed category does not necessarily satisfy the entire application; the applicable document depends heavily on your individual case. Aaple Sarkar publishes a notified service-delivery time limit for each certificate under Maharashtra’s Right to Public Services Act, with a designated officer and appellate officers if the service is delayed or refused without adequate justification. As checked on 28 September 2026:
