The Seven Parks, One at a Time
Imagicaa Water Park
Imagicaa’s registered address is 30/31 Sangdewadi, Khopoli-Pali Road, near Lonavala, Khalapur. Use the operator’s own directions page rather than a loose “on the expressway” description. Before buying, work out what you’re paying for: water park admission alone, theme park admission alone, an advertised combination, or a Novotel Imagicaa hotel package, all separate purchases. Imagicaa publishes a dedicated ride-restrictions page; two examples are Thunder Bay (40 to 100 kg, minimum 48 inches) and Blizzard (40 to 80 kg, minimum 48 inches). There’s also a real timing inconsistency worth flagging: one operator timetable shows the water park closing at 5:30 PM, while other references on the same site point to 6 PM. Confirm the schedule for your visit date directly with Imagicaa.
Wet’nJoy Lonavala
Wet’nJoy is at Mundhaware, on the old Pune-Mumbai highway (NH-4, post Takve). Its own site separates overall park hours from ride hours: the park runs 10 AM to 6 PM, but slides operate 10:30 AM to 5 PM in phases. The wave pool runs in three separate shifts rather than continuously, and some slide towers open later than others, which matters more than a single “opening time” for planning your day. The claim that its water park shuts for all of July to September does not hold up: the operator states no monsoon closure for the water park, and some material promotes rainy-season visits. That’s not a guarantee every ride runs in every weather condition, only a correction of a blanket closure claim.
Suraj Water Park
Suraj Water Park, in Thane, publishes attraction information and phone booking details on its own site. Adult admission is listed at Rs 1,000, with “adult” defined as anyone taller than 4 feet 6 inches. The operator’s page does not establish overnight accommodation, so this guide does not describe Suraj as a resort. A published price and website are evidence of the operator’s own listing, not confirmation that every attraction runs on the day you visit.
Tikuji-Ni-Wadi
Tikuji-Ni-Wadi is a water and amusement park at Tikuji-ni-wadi Road, opposite Tata Power House, Manpada, Chitalsar, Thane. Its site currently advertises combined amusement-and-water-park admission at Rs 999, with food explicitly excluded, a more useful distinction than an old “all-inclusive” claim. This review found no bowling or go-karting confirmed on the current site, so neither is listed here; check directly if either matters to you.
Shangrila Resort and Waterpark
Shangrila is on the Mumbai-Nashik Highway, at the Bhiwandi Bypass end, Gangaram Pada, Vadpe, Bhiwandi, Thane district, not near Lonavala or the Pune highway, which is a real geography error in some older listings of this property. The operator lists entry, food packages and rooms as separate line items: adult-only entry is Rs 700, and an adult package with vegetarian food is Rs 1,100 (the site defines “adult” as above 4 feet). A room booking is a separate purchase from water park admission; don’t assume a room rate includes park access or more than one day of entry.
Visava Amusement Park & Resort
Visava Amusement Park & Resort, near Karnala, is the current identity of the property long listed elsewhere as “Panoramic Resort.” The operator’s own site states it was “previously known as the Panoramic Resort” before the Visava Group took over, and places it near the Karnala Bird Sanctuary on the Mumbai-Goa corridor. Older listings under the Panoramic name still circulate, including one intermediary page that disclaims being the official resort site; that describes the intermediary, not Visava’s current operation, and isn’t evidence the resort has closed. Check current packages directly with Visava rather than an old Panoramic-branded price, and don’t assume a sanctuary visit and a park visit belong together just because they’re nearby.
The Great Escape Water Park
The Great Escape Water Park is in Virar East, a longer trip north, distinct from the Thane options (Suraj, Tikuji-Ni-Wadi) and the Khopoli option (Imagicaa). Its own FAQ states the waterpark is open throughout the year, further evidence against treating monsoon closure as a rule for every park here, though any single day can still be disrupted by weather or maintenance. Don’t confuse this park with other similarly named water parks elsewhere in India.

Child Tickets and Ride Eligibility Are Different Things
A child ticket category determines admission pricing. It does not establish which slides, pools or rides that child can use.

Imagicaa’s own ride-restrictions page shows how specific these can get, since minimum and maximum weights and height minimums vary by ride. Don’t assume one park’s rules apply at another, and treat a height notation carefully rather than converting it casually.

Monsoon and Weather
There is no single monsoon opening rule for all these parks. Check the selected park, the specific attraction and your visit date. A water park operating during the rainy season can still suspend rides or close temporarily because of weather or other conditions.
Ordinary rainfall is different from a thunderstorm. If lightning is reported, leave the water and exposed areas for proper shelter. The US National Weather Service recommends staying sheltered for at least 30 minutes after the last clap of thunder before resuming outdoor activity. Park staff may require a longer suspension, and their instructions take priority.
Supervision and Hygiene
Skip “suitable for all ages” assumptions. A designated adult should actively watch children in the water without phone or alcohol distraction, keep infants and toddlers within arm’s reach, and follow each attraction’s restrictions. The American Academy of Pediatrics is explicit that a lifeguard adds protection, not a replacement for a caregiver’s own supervision.
A few hygiene habits matter more than clear-looking water, per CDC guidance: stay out if you’re unwell with diarrhoea, shower before entering, avoid swallowing pool water, take children on regular bathroom breaks, and use designated changing facilities.
