Getting there from Navi Mumbai

The pagoda is reached by road directly, or by a ferry across Gorai Creek. The official directions describe both.

By road

For Navi Mumbai travellers, the official directions follow the Thane, Ghodbunder and Mira-Bhayandar approach, then pass EsselWorld and the Helipad to Global Pagoda Road through the Sanchi Arch, about 22 km from Ghodbunder Junction. Use current navigation for the turns. These distances are road distances from each station to the pagoda map point, which is approximate, for a direct drive with no ferry crossing, from OpenStreetMap and the OSRM routing service, checked on 22 October 2026. They are distances and not travel times.

Starting point Road distance
Airoli railway station About 47 km (route)
Vashi railway station About 64 km (route)
CBD Belapur railway station About 71 km (route)
Kharghar railway station About 72 km (route)
Panvel railway station About 73 km (route)

By train, bus and ferry

  • Take the Western line to Borivali and leave by the west side. From Navi Mumbai on the Harbour or Trans-Harbour lines this needs an interchange, so plan it in a live route planner. See the Mumbai local train guide.
  • From Chandavarkar Road at the north end of Borivali station, the official page names BEST buses 294 and 247 to Gorai Creek, or an auto for about 3.8 km.
  • At Gorai Creek there are two different ferries. The EsselWorld ferry lands at the EsselWorld jetty, with a walk to the pagoda following signs. The local ferry lands at a local jetty that the page says is quite far from the pagoda, so further transport is needed.
  • The official pages publish different ferry fares: the directions page gives ₹50 return for the EsselWorld ferry and ₹5 one way for the local ferry, and the museum page gives ₹100 and ₹30 return. Confirm the destination jetty, the fare and the last return departure before you board. The directions page gives 5:25 pm for the last ferry to the pagoda.
  • There is also an MBMT bus from Bhayander station to the pagoda, per the official directions.

Check your return connection before you start the visit.

A visitor itinerary

  • Choose road access or a specific ferry route, and confirm the ferry’s destination jetty.
  • Check the museum slot or the meditation session you want.
  • Explore the grounds and the architecture.
  • View the dome from the visitors’ gallery, without photographs.
  • Attend an eligible session or your booked museum slot.
  • Allow time for the onward connection and your journey home.

Allow two to three hours on site as an editorial estimate, with extra time for booked activities, and keep it separate from the cross-city travel time. Families and visitors with limited mobility should confirm access arrangements before the visit, since step-free access along the whole route is not confirmed.
