Navi Mumbai Metro Monthly Pass

How to Buy a Ticket
QR-code ticketing is CIDCO’s confirmed, currently operational method for Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1, launched in mid-2025.3 Current ticketing options are as follows:
- QR ticket at the counter: confirmed available. This is the standard way to buy a single-journey ticket today.
- Ticket vending machines (self-service): not confirmed as installed at Line 1 stations; plan on a staffed counter rather than assuming a machine will be available.
- Rechargeable smart card: not confirmed as currently available. Reports on this have been inconsistent, and the most recent sourcing reviewed references QR tickets only.
- NCMC (National Common Mobility Card): CIDCO has described this as “coming soon” since at least mid-2025; no confirmation has been found that it has since launched on this line. NCMC is already active on the separate Mumbai Metro system (Lines 1, 2A, and 7); that’s a different operator, not CIDCO’s Navi Mumbai Metro.4
- Mobile app booking: not yet live for Navi Mumbai Metro. If you’ve seen references to booking metro tickets on the “Mumbai 1” app, that app belongs to the unrelated Mumbai Metro (MMOPL) system, not CIDCO’s Line 1.
- WhatsApp ticketing: not yet live for Navi Mumbai Metro. A WhatsApp ticketing number circulating online belongs to Mumbai Metro One/MMOPL, a different system entirely. Don’t use it expecting a Navi Mumbai Metro ticket.

Future Extensions
CIDCO’s wider Navi Mumbai Metro plan includes two newly approved extensions beyond the currently operational CBD Belapur-Pendhar Line 1. In June 2026, the Maharashtra Cabinet approved a ₹5,575 crore package covering Metro Line 1A (CBD Belapur to Sagar Sangam, 3.02 km, 2 stations) and Metro Line 2 (Pendhar to Navi Mumbai International Airport Terminal 4, 14.07 km, 11 stations). Together with the existing Line 1, these would form a continuous roughly 28 km corridor from Sagar Sangam to NMIA once built. As of the most recent information reviewed, construction on Line 1A and Line 2 has not yet begun; CIDCO has targeted a construction start in FY 2027-28.7
Separately, Metro Line 8 (the “Gold Line”) is a distinct project connecting Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) in Mumbai to NMIA, roughly 34.9 km with 20 stations. It was approved by the Maharashtra government in February 2026 and is being developed by CIDCO on a public-private-partnership basis. Line 8 is not the same project as Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 or its Line 1A/Line 2 extensions, though the networks are expected to eventually interchange. Construction timelines reported for Line 8 have not been independently confirmed as underway.8

Airport Connectivity (NMIA)
Does Line 1 currently connect to Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA)? No. There is no operational metro service to NMIA as of August 2026. That said, airport connectivity has moved forward on paper: Metro Line 2 (approved June 2026) is planned to reach NMIA Terminal 4, and the separate Metro Line 8 (approved February 2026) is planned to connect NMIA to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. - Budget an extra few minutes at the counter to buy a QR ticket. There’s no app or WhatsApp shortcut yet, so build that into your schedule rather than assuming a self-service option.
- If you’re travelling to or from Pendhar in the evening, keep in mind the last train from that end runs 15 minutes earlier than from CBD Belapur. Check the current schedule before heading out late.
- Off-peak trains (outside the windows listed above) tend to be far less crowded and more comfortable if your schedule is flexible.
- Travelling on a Sunday or public holiday? Expect trains every 15 minutes all day rather than the usual 10-minute peak service.
- Connecting from Mumbai’s suburban rail network, CBD Belapur is your easiest interchange point on this line.
