NMIA’s transport page names two bus services. NMMT buses connect the airport with Kharkopar, Targhar, Belapur, Nerul, Khandeshwar and Panvel railway stations. Chalo Bus connects NMIA with Andheri, Bandra, Dadar, Thane and Colaba.
Adani Airports’ release of 5 October 2026 adds detail. NMMT runs seven airport routes, A1 to A7, linking Terminal 1 with Kharkopar, Targhar, Belapur, Nerul, Panvel, Khandeshwar and the Airport Project Office, and Belapur and Nerul services run every 15 to 20 minutes in peak hours. Chalo Bus runs 21 daily services to Marol (Andheri East), Bandra, Dadar and the World Trade Centre in Colaba. MSRTC e-Shivai electric buses were announced from 7 October 2026 to Dadar (via Sion and Atal Setu), Borivali (via Mumbai airport Terminal 1, Bandra and Atal Setu) and Pune, with fares from NMIA of ₹170 to Dadar East, ₹210 to Borivali and ₹450 to Pune. Children under 12 and women travelling with a National Common Mobility Card pay half fare. Thane and Nashik services are planned by mid-November. Reaching NMIA by Suburban Train
NMIA connects to the wider Mumbai Suburban Railway network through nearby stations rather than a direct line into the terminal. Passengers using the suburban railway need a last-mile road connection (bus, taxi, auto or app-based cab) to complete the journey to Terminal 1.
Panvel and Targhar: The Stations NMIA Names
NMIA’s transport page says the nearest suburban stations are expected to be Panvel and Targhar, reached by the Harbour and Trans-Harbour lines, and that Panvel Junction is a major hub for national rail. Neither station gives direct rail access into the terminal, so you need a last-mile road connection. NMIA says NMMT buses connect both stations with the airport. Bamandongri also sits on the Uran corridor, and Adani Airports’ release of 5 October 2026 names it, with Panvel and Targhar, as a station the airport is connected to. Reaching NMIA Using Navi Mumbai Metro
Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 is operational between CBD Belapur and Pendhar but does not directly serve NMIA. Metro Line 1 may be useful as part of a multimodal journey for travellers already near the corridor, but a road transfer is still required to reach the airport. Metro Line 8: Planned, Not Operational
Metro Line 8 is part of the planned regional connectivity framework linking NMIA with Mumbai’s existing international airport. It is not an operational airport connection today. App-Based Cabs to and from NMIA
NMIA’s transport page lists Uber, Ola, Rapido, Alyte, Allmiles and Aero link as app-based operators, and WTI Cabs and First Cars for car rental. Uber Auto runs from a designated auto pickup zone. Check your preferred cab app for current availability, pickup instructions and fare before travelling. Prepaid Taxis at NMIA
Prepaid taxi services are available at NMIA, with private taxi service counters in the arrivals area. Adani Airports’ release of 5 October 2026 announced a complimentary hourly shuttle between NMIA and Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, run by Cityflo, Aarya and Chalo. The release gives no pick-up points or first and last departure times, so confirm those with the operator before you rely on it for a connection. Where to Meet Your Ride at NMIA
For arriving passengers, NMIA designates the arrival forecourt and basement for meeting family, friends and pre-arranged transport. Taxis, app-based cabs and shuttle services are available outside the terminal; follow current terminal signage for the exact pickup point. Adani Airports’ release of 5 October 2026 says Bharat Taxi would start with a fleet of up to 40 vehicles from 10 October, that Uber Go, Uber Premier and Uber Auto would run with pickup zones, and that prepaid taxis, prepaid autos and car rentals are also being introduced.
