Navi Mumbai Metro Route Map: Stations, Fares and Current Status

Transport & Commute

The Navi Mumbai Metro’s only operating line runs between CBD Belapur and Pendhar. This guide covers the route, stations and fares, which Navi Mumbai areas have a metro, and which further lines are approved or proposed, keeping the three apart. It also says plainly what we could not confirm from an official source.

Short answer: Line 1 serves Belapur, Kharghar and the Taloja end. Vashi, Nerul, Seawoods, Kopar Khairane, Ghansoli, Airoli, Kamothe, Kalamboli and Panvel have no operating Navi Mumbai Metro station. Lines toward the airport are approved but not built.

NaviMumbai.com provides independent information. Always confirm current fares, timings and route details with the operator before travelling.

The Operational Line: CBD Belapur to Pendhar

CIDCO’s project page describes Line 1 as 11.10 km with 11 stations and one depot, and says the Government of Maharashtra authorised CIDCO as implementing agency on 30 September 2010. CIDCO’s project pages pre-date the opening, so for the opening we rely on news reports: services started on 17 November 2023, according to Deccan Herald (17 November 2023) and the Hindustan Times (18 November 2023). We found no official source for the opening date.

CIDCO’s pages describe a longer corridor planned in phases: Belapur to Pendhar (the operating line), then MIDC to Khandeshwar and an interlink between Pendhar and MIDC, with a later extension to the airport. Those are CIDCO’s older phase names. The 2026 approvals described below use different line names, and we found no official page that explains how the two sets of names relate.

Station List (Belapur to Pendhar)

In order, as listed in the opening-day reports (Deccan Herald, 17 November 2023):

  1. Belapur Terminal
  2. RBI Colony
  3. Belpada
  4. Utsav Chowk
  5. Kendriya Vihar
  6. Kharghar Village
  7. Central Park
  8. Pethpada
  9. Amandoot
  10. Petali-Taloja
  11. Pendhar

MMRDA’s Metro Line 12 page names Amandoot as a Line 1 station. CIDCO’s own 2016 station table, in an archived copy of its website, used different names, such as Sec-7 CBD Belapur, Sector 14 Kharghar, Sector 34 Kharghar and Panchanand. We found no official page that maps the old names to the new ones, so you may see both.

Which Navi Mumbai Areas Have a Metro?

Area Operating metro today Approved or proposed
CBD Belapur Yes. Line 1 starts at Belapur Terminal. Line 1A, Sagar Sangam to CBD Belapur, approved on 9 June 2026
Kharghar Yes. Stations including Utsav Chowk, Kharghar Village, Central Park and Pethpada. None found beyond Line 1
Taloja Yes, at the Pendhar end. CIDCO describes the depot at Taloja Panchanand and a Petali-Taloja station is reported. MMRDA’s Metro Line 12 (Kalyan to Taloja) lists a connection at Amandoot
Vashi, Nerul, Seawoods, Kopar Khairane, Ghansoli, Airoli No. Line 1 runs only between Belapur and Pendhar. None found. The official sources we checked name no approved station or line here. CIDCO’s 2016 road map listed Vashi to Mahape and Dighe to Belapur corridors for later phases, which is an old snapshot. The approved Line 8 release names no Navi Mumbai stations, so we cannot say which areas it will serve.
Kamothe and Kalamboli No CIDCO’s older plans describe a route linking Belapur, Kharghar, Taloja, MIDC, Kalamboli and Khandeshwar railway station. News reports in March 2026 name possible stations, but no official source confirms them.
Panvel and New Panvel No No official approval found for a station here. CIDCO’s older plans name Khandeshwar railway station on the proposed route.
Navi Mumbai International Airport No. NMIA’s own transport page mentions no metro. Line 2 (Pendhar to NMIA Terminal 4) approved on 9 June 2026 and Metro Line 8 (airport to airport) approved on 27 January 2026. Neither is built.

Sources: CIDCO’s metro introduction page for the depot and the older corridor, and the NMIA transport page, which we opened on 3 October 2026. “None found” means none in the CIDCO, MMRDA, Maharashtra government and PIB pages we checked on 3 October 2026, which is not proof that none exists.

Fares

Per a Free Press Journal report dated 10 September 2024, checked 2 October 2026: CIDCO reduced fares by up to 33% effective 7 September 2024, bringing the full Belapur to Pendhar fare down from Rs 40 to Rs 30. The revised slab reported was Rs 10 for 0 to 4 km, Rs 20 for 4 to 8 km, and Rs 30 for 8 km and above. We could not find an official CIDCO fare-chart page to independently confirm this; confirm the current fare at the station before travelling, since fares can change.

Who Operates It?

CIDCO built and owns the line and is its implementing agency. Day-to-day operation is described differently in different places. A Free Press Journal report of 28 June 2024 says Konkan Railway Corporation Limited (KRCL) won a Rs 12.75 crore tender from CIDCO and started work on 1 April 2024 for three years. It quotes KRCL’s spokesperson describing “train operation, station control and other technical activities in Maha-Metro on outsourced basis”. We did not find an official page that describes how KRCL’s role fits with Maha Metro’s, and Maha Metro’s own website does not list Navi Mumbai Metro among its projects. If this matters for your purpose, confirm the current operator with CIDCO or at the station.

Connectivity to Suburban Rail and Mumbai Metro

CIDCO’s 2016 station table (archived copy above) notes suburban railway connectivity at the CBD Belapur terminal, so the line interchanges with CBD Belapur railway station on the Harbour Line. That table pre-dates the opening and uses the old station names, and we found no post-opening official statement on the interchange. We did not find a current interchange with the Mumbai Metro network. Line 8 is the planned link between Mumbai’s airport and the new one, and it is not built.

Approved and Proposed Lines

  • Line 1A and Line 2. The Maharashtra government’s news release of 9 June 2026 (in Marathi) says the Cabinet Committee on Infrastructure, chaired by the Chief Minister, approved Rs 5,575 crore for Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1A (Sagar Sangam to CBD Belapur) and Line 2 (Pendhar to Navi Mumbai International Airport Terminal 4). It gives 2 stations on Line 1A and 11 on Line 2, and a continuous 28 km from Sagar Sangam to the airport. A Free Press Journal report of 12 June 2026 gives 3.02 km and 14.07 km and says construction is expected to begin in FY 2027-28. The government’s 4 August 2026 release lists both under “future proposed” metro projects, and we found no tender or construction notice.
  • Metro Line 8. A government release of 27 January 2026 says the same Cabinet committee approved a 35 km link between Mumbai’s airport and Navi Mumbai International Airport, with 20 stations and an expected cost of Rs 22,862 crore. It is a Mumbai Metro line, separate from the Navi Mumbai Metro, and the 4 August 2026 release also lists it as a future project.
  • Taloja to Khandeshwar. A Mumbai Live report of 16 March 2026 describes a Taloja to Khandeshwar corridor of about 8.15 km with eight stations and calls it Line 2. We found no official document that approves it as a separate project, and the June 2026 release uses “Line 2” for Pendhar to the airport. We do not know how the two relate.

Construction dates and routes can change, so treat all of these as plans, not services.

Navi Mumbai International Airport Connectivity

No metro runs to the airport today. NMIA’s own transport page lists local trains, buses, taxis and app cabs, and mentions no metro. Line 2 and Line 8 are approved but not built, as described above. See our airport access guide for the options that work now.

Before You Travel

  • The only operating section is CBD Belapur to Pendhar.
  • Confirm the current fare at the station rather than relying on a figure from this or any other secondary source, since fares have changed before.
  • Don’t assume an interchange with the Mumbai Metro network exists; Line 8 is approved, not built.
  • Don’t plan around a metro to the airport; none is operating.
  • If you need to know who to contact about service issues, confirm the current operator at the station.
