How to reach ISKCON Kharghar
The temple is in Sector 23 of Kharghar, next to Central Park. There is no station at the gate, so plan one onward road leg. Road distances below come from the OSRM routing service on OpenStreetMap data, measured on 21 October 2026 from the map point for each station (not a particular exit) to the temple’s map point in the ISKCON centres directory. Traffic changes journey time, and the route you choose can change the distance, so use the route links to compare.
| Starting point | Options | Road distance |
|---|---|---|
| Kharghar railway station (Harbour line) | Train to Kharghar, then an auto, taxi or bus. The temple’s site calls it a 10 minute walk, but routing gives a much longer road distance, so plan a vehicle. See the Kharghar railway station guide. | About 3.6 km (route) |
| CBD Belapur station | Option 1: Harbour line train towards Panvel to Kharghar, then an onward road leg. Option 2: Metro Line 1 towards Pendhar, then a road leg from the station you choose. | About 6.4 km direct (route) |
| Mansarovar station | Harbour line train towards Mumbai, one stop to Kharghar, then an onward road leg. Check that your train stops at Kharghar. | About 7.8 km direct (route) |
| Panvel station | Option 1: Harbour line train towards Mumbai through Khandeshwar and Mansarovar to Kharghar, then onward. Option 2: auto, taxi or bus all the way. Check routes in the NMMT bus guide. | About 11.7 km direct (route) |
| Vashi station | Harbour line train towards Panvel to Kharghar, then onward, or a taxi all the way. Check the timetable for a train that stops at Kharghar. | About 13.7 km direct (route) |
| Central Park (Metro Line 1) | Metro Line 1 has a Central Park station. Which exit and gate lead to the temple is not confirmed here, so check on a live map and do not assume it is the nearest metro station. See the Navi Mumbai Metro route map and the Central Park Kharghar guide. | Check on a live map |
The temple’s page names bus numbers 54, 52, 45-AC and 55-AC from Kharghar station. Confirm the current routes in the NMMT app before relying on them. The Mumbai local train guide covers train basics.
The temple’s website gives an airport distance reference without saying how it was measured or from which point. For your journey, check directions from your arrival terminal to the temple entrance. As a rough check, routing from the airport’s map point to the temple gives about 14 km by road (route). The how to reach the airport guide and the Navi Mumbai International Airport guide explain how the airport links work today.
The temple’s official website states that parking is available. Parking charges and festival-day arrangements are not specified on that page. Call the temple before travelling if parking is essential to your visit.
What to expect at the temple
The temple is open to visitors of all faiths. The temple’s project description page lists five altars: Sri Sri Radha Madan Mohanji, Sri Sri Sita Ram Laxman and Bhakta Hanumanji, Sri Sri Gauranga Mahaprabhu and Nityananda Prabhu, Sri Sri Vitthal Rukminiji, and Sri Sri Prahlad Narsimha. That page uses future tense (“will include”), so do not assume all five are open to visitors. Ask at the gate or call the temple to find out which are open for darshan on the day you go.
The temple does not publish a dress code or rules on photography and mobile phones. As at most temples, expect to leave footwear outside and wear modest clothes, and ask at the entrance about phones and cameras. The website mentions no entry charge and lists donation options separately.
Janmashtami, Ram Navami and the Vitthal Rukminiji festival draw large crowds, according to the temple. Its events page lists Govardhan Puja and Annakuta on Monday 9 November 2026 and Gita Jayanti on Sunday 20 December 2026. Festival dates move every year, so check the temple’s calendar.
The new temple and the campus
The new Sri Sri Radha Madanmohanji Temple was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 15 January 2025, according to All India Radio. The temple’s website describes the campus as spread over 8 acres, while the news report of the inauguration says nine. Besides the temple, the site lists Govinda’s restaurant, a guesthouse, the Bhaktivedanta Ayurvedic Healing and Research Centre and the Bhaktivedanta College of Vedic Education. It describes a Glory of Maharashtra Cultural Centre in future terms, so do not plan a visit around it until the temple confirms it is open.
