Education & Career

Compare law colleges in Navi Mumbai and the Panvel area that take part in Maharashtra’s centralised admission process (CAP) for the 3 year LL.B. and the 5 year integrated B.A. LL.B. This guide lists their intake and published addresses, explains eligibility, shows the 2026-27 cut-offs the CET Cell prints on its portals, and sets out the admission steps and what to ask a college.

The 2026-27 admission dates have passed, so the cut-offs below are historical closing values, and a new cycle will have its own announcements.

Eligibility

This section summarises the 2026-27 CET brochures. Read the current brochure for the full rules and the exceptions.

  • 3 year LL.B. You need a bachelor’s degree in any faculty from a recognised university. The brochure asks for at least 45 percent aggregate marks for Open, Outside Maharashtra, SEBC and EWS candidates, 42 percent for Maharashtra VJNT, SBC and OBC candidates, and 40 percent for SC and ST candidates.
  • 5 year B.A. LL.B. You need Class 12 or an equivalent qualification. The 5 year brochure asks for at least 45 percent aggregate marks for Open, SEBC, EWS and Outside Maharashtra candidates, 42 percent for Maharashtra VJNT, SBC and OBC candidates, and 40 percent for Maharashtra SC and ST candidates.
  • Marks are not cut-offs. These percentages are minimum qualifying marks in your degree or Class 12 examination. They are different from the CET percentile and from a college’s cut-off.
  • Candidature and documents. Maharashtra candidature and reservation claims need supporting documents, and special candidature routes can have different requirements. See our caste validity certificate guide, non-creamy layer certificate guide and EWS certificate guide.
  • Two registrations. Registering for the CET and registering for the CAP are separate steps.
  • No guarantee. Qualifying academically does not guarantee a seat.

Fees

This guide does not quote fees, because the CET Cell portals do not publish them. Ask each college for its fee notice and check these points before you pay.

Field What to confirm
Course Whether the fee is for the 3 year LL.B. or the 5 year B.A. LL.B.
Academic year That the notice covers 2026-27 and not an earlier year
Status Whether the figure is approved, provisional or proposed
Annual charges Tuition and every other compulsory component
Additional costs Examination fees, deposits, library, hostel and transport
Source An official fee notice from the college or the applicable authority

Do not multiply one year’s fee to get a guaranteed cost for the whole course, and do not treat an earlier year’s fee notice as the current fee.

Historical cut-offs: general open category, Maharashtra seats

The CET Cell’s round wise cut-off pages print, for each college, round, category and quota, the closing score and a merit number. The CET brochures say CET results are declared in percentile, so read each score as a CET percentile as printed on the portal. The tables show Round I and Round III for the general open category on Maharashtra seats, with the score first and the merit number in brackets.

  • Interpret each merit number within its own course, round and merit list. Do not compare merit numbers across different lists as though they use one unchanged ranking.
  • These are historical closing values for the specified round and seat category. They do not guarantee admission in a later round or year.
  • Reserved categories, women’s, defence, minority and other quotas have their own cut-offs on the portal.

How admission works and the 2026-27 status

  • Entrance test. Admission to the 3 year course uses the MAH LL.B. 3 Year CET and admission to the 5 year course uses the MAH LL.B. 5 Year CET, with separate CAP portals.
  • Register and upload. You register on the CAP portal, upload documents and have them scrutinised, then the CET Cell publishes the merit list.
  • Option form. You fill college codes in order of preference, using the college lists above.
  • Rounds. Seats are allotted over CAP rounds, followed by an institute level round and an extended institute level round.
  • Status. As checked on 19 October 2026, the published final admission dates had passed: 12 October 2026 for the 3 year course and 10 October 2026 for the 5 year course, according to the portals’ 3 year schedule and 5 year schedule. Check the respective portal for any later official extension.
  • Next cycle. For the next admission cycle, check the Maharashtra CET Cell’s website for that year’s CET and CAP announcements. Keep the 2026-27 portals as sources for historical college and cut-off information.

Check the college search for the 3 year course and the search for the 5 year course to confirm a college’s listing, status and intake.

Questions to ask a college

  • Is the course approved by the Bar Council of India and affiliated to the University of Mumbai for this year, and for how many seats?
  • What is the approved fee for my seat type for 2026-27, and what other charges apply?
  • What are the lecture timings and attendance rules, especially for the 3 year course?
  • Is there a moot court and a library, and what legal aid or clinic work do students do?
  • What internship help does the college give, and does it describe it as assistance or as a guarantee?
  • How does the college share placement details, such as the batch, the number of students who sat and the number placed?

Other law study options in Navi Mumbai

Some institutions admit outside the CAP and have their own admission information. NMIMS’s Navi Mumbai campus page lists B.A. LL.B. (Hons) and B.B.A. LL.B. (Hons), and its admission handout describes admission through CLAT. Their eligibility, fees and dates are separate from the CAP, so do not compare their scores with the CAP cut-offs above.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which law colleges are in Navi Mumbai?

This guide lists 11 colleges offering the 3 year LL.B. and 10 offering the 5 year B.A. LL.B. within its selected CAP scope, in Navi Mumbai and the Panvel area. It is not a count of every law institution.

Can I study law after Class 12?

Yes, through the 5 year integrated B.A. LL.B., which uses the MAH LL.B. 5 Year CET. The 5 year brochure sets the Class 12 marks and candidature rules.

Which route applies after graduation?

The 3 year LL.B., which uses the MAH LL.B. 3 Year CET and needs a bachelor’s degree in any faculty from a recognised university. The 3 year brochure sets the marks rules.

What is the difference between qualifying marks and a college cut-off?

Qualifying marks are the minimum aggregate in your degree or Class 12, such as 45 percent, that make you eligible to apply. A cut-off is the closing CET percentile for a college, round and category, and it depends on the seats and the candidates in that round.

Can I still apply for LL.B. this year?

As checked on 19 October 2026, the published final admission dates had passed: 12 October 2026 for the 3 year course and 10 October 2026 for the 5 year course. Check the respective CET Cell portal for any later official extension.

Where should I check the next admission cycle?

On the Maharashtra CET Cell’s website, for that year’s CET and CAP announcements.

How should I verify college fees?

Ask the college for its fee notice and check the course, the academic year, whether the figure is approved or proposed, and the other compulsory charges. This guide does not quote fees.

Are the 3 year and 5 year admissions separate?

Yes. Each has its own CET, CAP portal, college list, college codes and cut-offs.

Sources and method

The Maharashtra State CET Cell’s LL.B. 3 year CAP portal and 5 year CAP portal: the approved college lists with intake and addresses, the round wise cut-off pages for Round I and Round III, and the admission schedules, with eligibility from the 3 year and 5 year information brochures. This is desk research from published sources. It lists only University of Mumbai colleges with Navi Mumbai or Panvel area addresses in that list, so it does not cover every college, and it does not rank or review any college.
