Nerul railway station is in the Nerul node of Navi Mumbai, on the Harbour line of Central Railway. Central Railway’s station list gives the code NEU. Juinagar is the station before it towards Vashi and Mumbai, and Seawoods Darave Karave is the next one towards Belapur and Panvel. Trains from Thane on the Trans-Harbour line also come to Nerul, and the Port Line has a Nerul to Uran route. There is no Navi Mumbai Metro station at Nerul. For the area around the station, see the Nerul area guide.
Quick answer: For CSMT, choose a CSMT-bound Harbour service. For Vashi or Kurla, check that the selected Harbour service calls at your destination. A Goregaon-bound service is not a CSMT-bound train. For Belapur, Kharghar or Panvel, take a Harbour line train towards Panvel and check that it goes beyond Belapur if you want Kharghar or Panvel. For Thane, Airoli or Ghansoli, take a Trans-Harbour train towards Thane. A Thane to Vashi train does not call at Nerul. For Uran, check whether the service is on the Nerul to Uran or Belapur to Uran route, and for a return journey from Uran confirm the destination as well as the departure time. Read the station indicators for your platform.

Harbour and Trans-Harbour services
Central Railway’s Mumbai Suburban timetable page lists the Harbour line timetable as effective 1 May 2026, with a down file and an up file. From Vashi towards Panvel the stations are Sanpada, Juinagar, Nerul, Seawoods Darave Karave, Belapur CBD, Kharghar, Mansarovar, Khandeshwar and Panvel, and the up file reads in the reverse order. A separate AC services timetable for the Harbour line is also listed, effective 1 May 2026.
Not every Harbour train goes the whole way. Some trains from CSMT end at Belapur CBD, and trains that run only between Vashi and Mumbai never reach Nerul. Look at the last station of your train before you board.
The page lists the Trans-Harbour timetable for Thane to Vashi and Panvel as effective 13 January 2024. After Turbhe the line splits. Vashi trains go through Sanpada and do not come to Nerul. The other trains go through Juinagar to Nerul, and some of them end here while others carry on through Seawoods Darave Karave and Belapur CBD to Panvel. Going the other way, a train to Thane calls at Nerul and then goes through Juinagar and Turbhe. The Mumbai local train guide sets out which line suits which trip.
Reading the timetable
The timetables label each train with a short code, and the abbreviations sheet explains most of them. TPL is a Thane to Panvel local, TNU a Thane to Nerul local and TV a Thane to Vashi local. PL is a Panvel local, BR a Belapur CBD local and V a Vashi local. In the Port Line timetable, UNU labels the Nerul to Uran route and UBR the Belapur to Uran route. A mark of X on a train means it does not run on Sundays and holidays, and a dollar sign marks three coaches reserved for ladies, at the CSMT end on the Harbour line and at the Thane end on the Trans-Harbour line.
Nerul to Uran services
Central Railway’s Port Line timetable, headed Nerul/Belapur to Uran and shown as effective 15 December 2025, lists two routes. The Nerul-origin and Belapur-origin services have different starting sections. Targhar is the first common station listed for the two routes in this timetable. Check whether the service is on the Nerul to Uran or Belapur to Uran route. For a return journey from Uran, confirm the destination as well as the departure time.
| Route | Stations in order |
|---|---|
| Nerul to Uran | Nerul, Seawoods Darave Karave, Targhar, Bamandongri, Kharkopar, Gavhan, Shematikhar, Nhave Sheva, Dronagiri, Uran |
| Belapur to Uran | Belapur CBD, Targhar, Bamandongri, Kharkopar, Gavhan, Shematikhar, Nhave Sheva, Dronagiri, Uran |
The timetable has 12 Nerul to Uran services and 12 Uran to Nerul services. The first and last of each are below. These are scheduled times from the linked timetable. Check current railway notices and station indicators for cancellations, blocks and platform changes.
| Direction | First service | Last service |
|---|---|---|
| Nerul to Uran | Leaves Nerul 06:15, scheduled at Uran 06:49 | Leaves Nerul 21:30, scheduled at Uran 22:04 |
| Uran to Nerul | Leaves Uran 06:10, scheduled at Nerul 06:44 | Leaves Uran 21:35, scheduled at Nerul 22:09 |
CIDCO’s railway page says the stretch from Seawoods and Nerul to Kharkopar was inaugurated on 11 November 2018, and its budget statement says the stretch from Kharkopar to Uran was inaugurated on 12 January 2024. For Dronagiri, one of the stations before Uran, see the Dronagiri area guide, and for the new airport, the nearest railway station to the airport guide.
Metro note
Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 runs from CBD Belapur to Pendhar, and CIDCO’s budget statement gives it 11 stations. Nerul is not one of them. CBD Belapur, where Line 1 starts, is two stations from Nerul on the Harbour line. Travel to CBD Belapur suburban station, then follow the local access directions to the separate Metro station. The rail journey and Metro journey require their own ticket checks. Check the Metro operator for timings and fares, and see the Navi Mumbai Metro route map guide for the stations on the line.
