Sanpada, Navi Mumbai: Area Guide

City Guide & Travel

Sanpada is a residential node of Navi Mumbai on the Harbour line, between Vashi and Juinagar stations. CIDCO planned it, and NMMC, the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, now runs civic services in the area. This page covers who looks after Sanpada, which trains stop there, how the official node plan is laid out, and what to check before you choose an address.

Sanpada at a glance

Question Answer
What is Sanpada? A CIDCO node in northern Navi Mumbai. CIDCO’s nodal plan index (in Marathi) lists the Sanpada node as number 5 of its 13 entries.
Which civic body? NMMC. Its history page (in Marathi) lists Sanpada among the nodes CIDCO developed and says CIDCO’s nodes passed to NMMC in stages from 1 January 1998. For one address, check the current property tax bill to see which authority bills it.
Which district? Thane. NMMC’s About page (in Marathi) gives Thane as the district.
Ward office NMMC’s D ward office is named Turbhe and sits at Annabhau Sathe Bhavan, Sector 10, Sanpada, per NMMC’s ward offices page (in Marathi). It lists 8976954883 for the office. The office address does not tell you which ward your own address falls in. Ask NMMC.
Railway stations Sanpada, on the Harbour line between Vashi and Juinagar. Some Trans-Harbour trains from Thane also stop there.
Metro No Navi Mumbai Metro station at Sanpada. Line 1 runs only between Belapur Terminal and Pendhar.

Who looks after Sanpada

CIDCO drew the nodes, NMMC runs civic services inside its limits, and the state sets the district. The areas in Navi Mumbai guide explains how the three overlap, and the what is Navi Mumbai guide gives the wider picture.

CIDCO. The nodal plan index lists 13 nodes and links a plan for each. Sanpada is the fifth. Juinagar, Turbhe and Seawoods are station and locality names, not entries in that list. CIDCO’s development plan page (in Marathi) says the north of Navi Mumbai now falls under NMMC and the south under Panvel Municipal Corporation. CIDCO’s head office is at CIDCO Bhavan, CBD Belapur, per its contact page.

NMMC. NMMC handles property tax, water bills, certificates and complaints inside its limits. Its helplines are 1800 222 309 and 1800 222 310, both shown on the NMMC home page. The NMMC online services guide and the NMMC property tax guide explain the online routes.

Check the current tax bill to identify the property-tax billing authority. Confirm the relevant ward, service provider or planning authority separately where needed.

How to get to Sanpada

By train

Sanpada is a Harbour line station. Take a train towards Panvel or CSMT and get off between Vashi and Juinagar. Central Railway’s Mumbai Suburban timetable page (last reviewed 14 August 2026) links the Harbour line timetable effective 1 May 2026. Its CSMT to Goregaon to Panvel table lists Sanpada between Vashi and Juinagar, and in the other direction Nerul, Juinagar, Sanpada, Vashi.

The same page links a Trans-Harbour table for Thane to Vashi, Nerul and Panvel trains, shown there as effective 13 January 2024. In that table the Thane to Vashi trains show times at Sanpada, after Turbhe. The trains that run on to Nerul and Panvel show times at Juinagar and Nerul instead, and none at Sanpada. So check your train’s destination before boarding. The Mumbai local train guide explains the lines and where to check current services. No timings or fares are printed here.

A station gets you to the area, not to your door. CIDCO’s node plan puts Sanpada station on the northern edge of the node and also marks Juinagar station on the eastern edge, so some addresses may be easier to reach from Juinagar. Compare the walking route to each on a map.

By Metro

Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 runs between Belapur Terminal and Pendhar, so it does not reach Sanpada. The Navi Mumbai Metro route map guide lists which areas have an operating station. Do not plan around a future line until an official notice names its stations.

By road

CIDCO’s Sanpada node plan labels the Sion Panvel Express Highway along the node’s northern and eastern edges. For orientation, most people use the name Palm Beach Road. The plan labels the road on the creek side as Palm Marg, and this page does not treat the two names as the same alignment. A government film location page describes Palm Beach Road as linking Vashi and Belapur through Sanpada and Nerul. Match any road name on a current map before you travel. A road is not automatically a continuous walking or cycling route.

For Mumbai, CIDCO’s development plan page describes the Thane Creek bridge as the link between Mumbai and Vashi, the neighbouring node. The toll plazas guide covers tolls near Vashi.

By bus and to the airport

Check NMMT’s current route list for services near your address. The NMMT bus routes guide shows how to look them up. For Navi Mumbai International Airport, the nearest railway station guide includes an example route from Vashi, Sanpada or Juinagar, and the how to reach the airport guide covers the rest. Confirm current services before you travel.

Finding your way around the node

CIDCO’s node plan numbers Sanpada’s sectors from 1 to 26. Read roughly, the plan puts them like this.

Part of the node Sectors on the plan
Near Sanpada station, north Sectors 2 and 3, with sector 5 (labelled Sanpada) further north-east
East side, near Juinagar station Sectors 10 and 11. NMMC’s D ward office is listed in Sector 10
Creek side, along Palm Marg Sectors 13 to 19
South, towards Nerul Sectors 21 to 25
Not residential Sector 12 is the railway car shed. Sector 26 is a holding pond

The plan’s own notes say it is not a legal document and that plots, roads and features are indicative and can change. Use it to understand the layout, not to prove a boundary or a plot. It marks gardens, schools, a market, a temple and a fish market inside the node, so errands are possible on foot in places. Check the actual walk from your building.

For schools and hospitals near an address, see the schools guide and the hospitals guide. Confirm any address on a map, because a hospital address can use both the Sanpada and Juinagar names. NMMC’s October 2026 notices also name a Sanpada urban primary health centre. Ask your ward office which centre covers your address.

Creek and mangroves

The node plan shows creek and mangrove land on the western side, and marks the mangrove area as transferred to the Forest Department. Do not enter mangroves, fenced land or protected areas without permission. Use established public routes and follow posted restrictions. The node plan does not establish visitor access. The Maharashtra Mangrove Cell’s Thane Creek Flamingo Sanctuary page (in Marathi) says flamingos arrive in thousands in October and November and mentions a flamingo boat ride. It gives +91 99876 73737 for centre visits and boat safari enquiries. It does not say which stretches of the creek are open to visitors, so ask before you plan a trip.

Services and civic matters

  • Property tax, water bills, certificates and complaints: NMMC. Start with the NMMC online services guide and the NMMC property tax guide. Water bills are covered in the NMMC water bill guide.
  • CIDCO leasehold and transfer questions: CIDCO. See the CIDCO flat transfer guide. CIDCO’s head office is at CIDCO Bhavan, CBD Belapur.
  • Ward office: the D ward office, named Turbhe, is at Annabhau Sathe Bhavan, Sector 10, Sanpada, and NMMC lists 8976954883. Ask which ward covers your address.
  • Postal PIN: varies by address. See the PIN question below.

Living in Sanpada

Area guides cannot choose a flat for you, but these are the checks that tend to decide a Sanpada address.

Decision What to compare
Station access The actual walk from the building to Sanpada station and to Juinagar station, at the hour you would travel
Commute to Mumbai Harbour line direction and the road approach to the Thane Creek bridge at Vashi, tried at your usual time
Everyday errands Groceries, clinic and school journeys from the building, on foot or by auto
Building Water arrangements, lifts, power backup and maintenance
Records The lease or CIDCO transfer papers and the current tax bill, checked against the address on the agreement

Compare current Sanpada listings using the same area measurement and building criteria. Vashi and Nerul figures are neighbouring-market context, not substitutes for Sanpada prices. The Vashi property rates guide, the Nerul property rates guide and the Navi Mumbai property rates guide give that context. For a move, see moving to Navi Mumbai.

If you are looking at MHADA homes, the MHADA Konkan Board lottery guide notes that the Konkan Board’s 2025 lottery included Sanpada schemes. Check MHADA’s notices for any current application window.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is Sanpada?

Sanpada is a residential node of Navi Mumbai on the Harbour line, between Vashi and Juinagar stations. CIDCO’s nodal plan index lists the Sanpada node as number 5 of 13.

Which district and civic body is Sanpada under?

NMMC’s history page lists Sanpada among the nodes CIDCO developed and says CIDCO’s nodes passed to NMMC in stages from 1 January 1998, and NMMC’s About page gives Thane as the district. For one address, check the current tax bill to identify the property-tax billing authority. Confirm the relevant ward, service provider or planning authority separately where needed.

Which NMMC ward is Sanpada in?

NMMC’s D ward office, named Turbhe, is at Annabhau Sathe Bhavan, Sector 10, Sanpada. An office address does not define a ward. Ask NMMC which ward covers your address.

Is Sanpada a CIDCO node or just a railway station?

Both. Sanpada is the fifth entry in CIDCO’s nodal plan index, which links a plan titled Node: Sanpada, and it is also a Harbour line station. Juinagar, Turbhe and Seawoods are not in the index.

How do I reach Sanpada by train?

Take a Harbour line train towards Panvel or CSMT, since Sanpada lies between Vashi and Juinagar. Trans-Harbour trains from Thane to Vashi also stop there. Those that run on to Nerul and Panvel stop at Juinagar and Nerul instead. Check your train’s destination and Central Railway’s current timetable before boarding.

Is Sanpada or Juinagar station closer to my address?

It depends on the sector. CIDCO’s node plan marks Sanpada station on the northern edge and Juinagar station on the eastern edge. Compare the walking route to each on a map.

Is there a Metro station at Sanpada?

No. Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 runs only between Belapur Terminal and Pendhar. The Metro route map guide lists which areas have an operating station.

What is Palm Beach Road in Sanpada?

Palm Beach Road is the familiar name for the creek-side road linking Vashi and Belapur through Sanpada and Nerul, as a government film location page describes it. CIDCO’s Sanpada node plan labels the creek-side road Palm Marg, and the two names should not be assumed to mark the same alignment. A road is not automatically a continuous walking or cycling route.

What is the PIN code of Sanpada?

The PIN depends on the address. NMMC prints 400705 for its Sector 10, Sanpada ward office, and the PIN code guide on this site lists 400703 and 400705 for Sanpada’s two sub post offices. Look up the PIN for your sector with India Post’s Locate Post Office search, or copy it from a recent postal item sent to the building.

Where can I check Sanpada property rates?

Compare current Sanpada listings using the same area measurement and building criteria. Vashi and Nerul figures are neighbouring-market context, not substitutes for Sanpada prices. The Navi Mumbai property rates guide is a starting point.
