Koparkhairane is an area of northern Navi Mumbai, between Ghansoli and Vashi on the Thane Belapur Road side. CIDCO planned it as a node, NMMC is the civic body, and Central Railway lists a Koparkhairane station on the Trans-Harbour line. This page answers the everyday questions: which station and which line, which office to contact, who looks after the industrial belt next door, and what to compare before choosing a home or a job here. For the wider city, see what is Navi Mumbai and the areas in Navi Mumbai guide.
A note on spelling. Central Railway’s station list writes Koparkhairane, and that is the spelling used here. CIDCO’s plan labels the station Kopar Khairane. Both mean the same place.
Koparkhairane at a glance
| Question | Short answer |
|---|---|
| Which city? | Navi Mumbai. NMMC’s history page names Koparkhairane among the nodes CIDCO developed and handed over to the corporation. |
| Which civic body? | NMMC. Its E ward office is named Koparkhairane and sits in Sector 6. |
| Which district? | Thane. The reasons and a caution on documents are below. |
| Railway station | Koparkhairane (KPHN) on the Trans-Harbour line, between Ghansoli and Turbhe in Central Railway’s timetable. |
| Navi Mumbai Metro | Not served by the operating Belapur to Pendhar Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1. |
| Main road | Thane Belapur Road, labelled on CIDCO’s plan along the eastern edge of the node. |
| Industrial neighbour | CIDCO’s plan labels the land east of the railway “Adjoining T.T.C. Industrial Area”. MIDC lists TTC Industrial Area on its own portal. |
| Property prices | Not on this page. Start with the Navi Mumbai property rates guide. |
How to get to Koparkhairane
By train
Take a Trans-Harbour train. Koparkhairane station is between Ghansoli and Turbhe. Central Railway’s Mumbai Suburban timetable page links a Trans Harbour public time table for Thane to Vashi and Panvel, marked effective 13 January 2024, so check that page for a newer edition. The file lists stations by code, in this order: TNA, DIGH, AIRL, RABE, GNSL, KPHN, TUH, then the Vashi and Panvel branches. Central Railway’s station categories page gives the names for three of those codes: Ghansoli (GNSL), Koparkhairane (KPHN) and Turbhe (TUH). In that file, every train in both directions shows a time at KPHN.
Trains run on to either the Vashi branch or the Panvel branch, so confirm your train’s destination before boarding, and plan the last leg from the station to your building, office or the ward office as a separate step. The Mumbai local train guide explains the lines and where to find live updates.
The Harbour line is a different route. Central Railway’s Harbour line timetable for Mumbai CSMT to Goregaon to Panvel, effective 1 May 2026, does not list Koparkhairane.
| Starting situation | What to check |
|---|---|
| From Thane | Thane (TNA) is the first station in the Trans-Harbour timetable. Look for your train in the Thane to Vashi/Panvel pages and read its time against KPHN, then check its destination branch. |
| From Mumbai on the Harbour line | Vashi and Sanpada are listed in both the Harbour and the Trans-Harbour timetables, so they are the stations to look at for a change. Check the Trans-Harbour pages for a train towards Thane that lists KPHN, and confirm the interchange for your own journey. |
| From Panvel | Use a train from the Trans-Harbour pages (Panvel to Thane), not the Harbour line towards CSMT. Read the train’s time against KPHN and confirm it before boarding. |
| To an address in the industrial belt | The timetables do not give station exits or the distance to an office. Ask the employer which exit and gate to use and how to cover the last leg, and test that route at your shift time. |
Metro
Koparkhairane is not served by the operating Belapur to Pendhar Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1. CIDCO’s Budget 2026-27 statement says Line 1 from CBD Belapur to Pendhar has been operational for the public since 17 November 2023. For current public transport, check Trans-Harbour trains and bus services. The Navi Mumbai Metro route map guide shows what operates today.
By bus
NMMT runs the buses in Navi Mumbai. NMMC prints the E ward office address as Sector 6, opposite the Chikneshwar bus depot, which is a handy landmark for the last leg. Route numbers and fares change, so use the NMMT bus routes guide to check the current list.
By road and to the airport
CIDCO’s Koparkhairane node plan labels Thane Belapur Road along the eastern edge of the node, with direction labels to Thane, Ghansoli, Mahape and Vashi. Treat these as plan labels, not a route recommendation. Use a current map to pick your entrance, and expect the road to be busy at office hours.
For the Navi Mumbai airport, see the Navi Mumbai airport guide and the how to reach the airport guide. For crossings to Mumbai, see the toll plazas guide and the Atal Setu toll guide.
Who to contact and which authority handles what
NMMC governs Koparkhairane. NMMC’s history page (in Marathi) says CIDCO developed CBD Belapur, Nerul, Vashi, Sanpada, Koparkhairane, Ghansoli and Airoli, that NMMC was set up on 1 January 1992, and that the nodes were handed over to it in stages from 1 January 1998. CIDCO’s development plan page (also in Marathi) lists Koparkhairane among the northern towns and says the north is now served by NMMC and the south by Panvel Municipal Corporation.
NMMC’s ward office page lists eight ward offices. Koparkhairane is the E ward, with Ghansoli as F (see the Ghansoli area guide), Vashi as C and Airoli as G. A ward name is an administrative label and the page does not say which sectors or streets each ward covers, so confirm which office serves your address.
| Office | Address as listed by NMMC | Contact as listed |
|---|---|---|
| E ward office, Koparkhairane | Sector 6, opposite Chikneshwar Bus Depot, Koparkhairane, Navi Mumbai 400709 | amc_koperkhairne_ward@nmmc.gov.in, 8976954885 |

NMMC’s page header lists helplines 1800 222 309, 1800 222 310 and +91 8291920504. Ward contacts can change, and the ward page does not print walk-in hours, so phone before you visit.
The current property-tax bill identifies the billing authority. Water supply, building permissions, CIDCO lease matters and revenue records may require separate checks, and an address in or near the industrial belt can add MIDC to the list.
| Matter | What decides it | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Property-tax billing | The authority named on the current bill | Your latest bill and the NMMC property tax guide |
| Water supply | The supplier shown on your connection or bill | The bill itself, then the NMMC water bill guide |
| Building permission | The authority named on the approval documents | The documents, then that authority |
| CIDCO allotment or lease | CIDCO records | CIDCO’s contact numbers page lists a divisional officer post for Koparkhairane but prints no phone number against it, so use CIDCO’s main contact channels |
| Industrial plot, shed or utility connection | MIDC or NMMC, depending on the service and the address | MIDC’s portal, then NMMC |
| Land records | Village, survey details and revenue jurisdiction | The property mutation guide and your own documents |
The district is Thane. NMMC’s history page says the corporation began with 45 villages that had been under gram panchayats of the Thane Zilla Parishad, and Thane district’s own website lists Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation on its page of municipal corporations. That is a city level source, not a survey record. For a sale deed, land record or court filing, use the district printed on your own documents. For other NMMC services, see the NMMC online services guide.
The industrial belt next door
East of the railway line is the area CIDCO’s plan labels T.T.C. Industrial Area, adjoining the node. MIDC’s industrial area details portal lists TTC Industrial Area under its Mahape regional office, and describes engineering, chemical, pharmaceutical, petroleum, electronics and information technology units. It says the roads, storm water drains and streetlights were handed over to NMMC, with the water supply and drainage collection system excepted.
MIDC’s entry does not name Koparkhairane, so it does not say where the industrial boundary falls. If a plot, a lease or a utility connection matters to you, ask MIDC or NMMC which of them handles your exact address. If you are taking a job in the belt, ask the employer for the gate, the shift timings and how to cover the distance from the station, and test that route yourself. The site’s IT companies and tech parks guide covers the wider Thane Belapur Road employment corridor.
Getting around and everyday errands
Koparkhairane is easier to read once you know the anchors. This table is taken from CIDCO’s node plan and NMMC’s ward page. Start from these, then work out each trip from your own building entrance.
| Landmark | Where it sits | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Koparkhairane station | Eastern edge of the node | CIDCO node plan |
| Thane Belapur Road | Along the eastern edge, with labels to Thane, Ghansoli, Mahape and Vashi | CIDCO node plan |
| T.T.C. Industrial Area | East of the railway, outside the node | CIDCO node plan, MIDC portal |
| Koparkhairane Village | North-west part of the node | CIDCO node plan |
| Mangrove area | West, on the creek side, marked as transferred to the Forest Department | CIDCO node plan |
| Ghansoli and Vashi | North and south neighbours of the node | CIDCO node plan |
| E ward office | Sector 6, opposite Chikneshwar Bus Depot | NMMC ward offices page |
| Errand | What to check |
|---|---|
| Station | The walking route and last-mile ride from the building to Koparkhairane station, at the hour you will travel. |
| Groceries, clinic, school | Time each trip from the building. The city guides to schools and hospitals include listings given as Kopar Khairane, so check each listing’s own address and official page. |
| Postal address | NMMC’s E ward office address ends 400709, but the PIN depends on your exact address. The PIN code guide explains how to check it. |
Do not enter mangrove habitat, fenced land or restricted areas. For a designated visitor facility or public route, follow the managing authority’s access rules. Vashi to the south is covered in places to visit in Vashi, and the creek visitor centre is covered in the Airoli area guide. For other outings, see things to do in Navi Mumbai.
What CIDCO’s plan shows
CIDCO’s nodal plan index (in Marathi) lists 13 nodes with a plan for each, and Koparkhairane is the third. Its node plan also marks the Khairane Nallah, a creek-side holding pond, and labels for a bus terminus, police station, fire station, post office, hospitals, schools, gardens and markets.
Those labels are planning uses, not a list of what operates today. The plan’s own notes say it is not to be used as a legal document and that plot, sector and nodal boundaries are subject to change. Use it to understand the layout, not to prove a boundary or a plot.
Living in Koparkhairane
Decisions here mostly come down to a few checks. Do not treat a nearby name such as Ghansoli (see the Ghansoli area guide) or Turbhe as interchangeable with Koparkhairane, since NMMC and Central Railway list them separately.
| Decision | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Rail commute | Which Trans-Harbour direction you need (Thane, Vashi or Panvel), whether a change is needed, and the walk from the building to the station. |
| Road commute | The Thane Belapur Road approach, the employer’s entrance and your shift time. |
| Work in the industrial belt | The gate, shift timings and the route between the station and the gate. |
| Paperwork | The authority on the tax bill, the water supplier, and whether a lease sits with CIDCO or an industrial plot with MIDC. |
| Everyday services | Groceries, healthcare and the school journey from the building. |
| Building | Water arrangements, lifts, power backup and maintenance. |
