Vashi railway station, code VSH, is a Central Railway station in Vashi, Navi Mumbai. It sits on the Harbour line between Mankhurd on the Mumbai side and Sanpada towards Panvel. It is also the end of the line for the Trans-Harbour trains that run between Thane and Vashi, which reach it through Turbhe and Sanpada. This guide covers which trains use it, how to reach it and what to confirm before you travel. For outings, see the places to visit in Vashi guide.
Quick answer: Central Railway’s station list gives the code VSH. Its Harbour line timetable, shown as effective 1 May 2026, lists Mankhurd before Vashi and Sanpada after it. Its Trans-Harbour timetable, shown as effective 13 January 2024, lists Thane to Vashi trains calling at Turbhe and Sanpada before Vashi.

Which trains use Vashi
Harbour line
Central Railway’s Harbour line tables list the stations from CSMT through Kurla, Chembur, Govandi and Mankhurd to Vashi, then Sanpada, Juinagar, Nerul, Seawoods Darave Karave, Belapur CBD, Kharghar, Mansarovar, Khandeshwar and Panvel. The tables are the CSMT to Goregaon to Panvel timetable and the Panvel to CSMT timetable. Both are shown as effective 1 May 2026, and no newer edition is linked on the time-table page.
Each column in those tables carries a code, and the abbreviations sheet explains them. These are the ones that matter at Vashi.
| Code | What the sheet calls it | What the Harbour tables show at Vashi |
|---|---|---|
| V | Vashi Local | In the CSMT to Panvel table these trains end at Vashi. In the Panvel to CSMT table they start there. |
| VVD | Vashi to Vadala Local | The same pattern, with the Mumbai end at Vadala Road instead of CSMT. |
| PL, PLVD | Panvel Local, Panvel to Vadala Local | Trains that call at Vashi and run on to Panvel. |
| BR, BRVD | Belapur CBD Local, Belapur to Vadala Local | Trains that call at Vashi and end at or start from Belapur CBD. |
| PLGN, GNPL | Panvel to Goregaon Local, Goregaon to Panvel Local | Longer runs that also call at Vashi. |
| M | Mankhurd Local | In the Panvel to CSMT table, a pair of these start at Mankhurd, the station before Vashi. |
| GN, B | Goregaon Local, Bandra Local | Short runs that do not reach Vashi. |
So the code on a train decides whether it comes to Vashi at all, and where it goes after. A train marked V or VVD never goes beyond Vashi, so if your journey is to Sanpada or Nerul, take a PL or BR train instead. The sheet says trains marked X do not run on Sundays or holidays. It also says trains marked $ carry three coaches reserved for ladies, at the CSMT end on the Harbour line and at the Thane end on the Trans-Harbour line. For the full legend, read the sheet itself.
Central Railway also publishes a separate list of AC services on the Harbour line, shown as effective 1 May 2026. It includes AC trains that call at Vashi, among them Vashi locals. Check the train’s code and its destination before you board, and check the AC list if you want an AC rake.
Trans-Harbour line
The Trans-Harbour timetable covers Thane to Vashi or Panvel and the return. Trains coded TV are Thane to Vashi trains. In both directions the table lists Thane, Digha Gaon, Airoli, Rabale, Ghansoli, Koparkhairane, Turbhe, Sanpada and Vashi, in that order from Thane. Vashi is the last stop from Thane. The Thane to Panvel trains (TPL) and Thane to Nerul trains (TNU) go from Turbhe to Juinagar instead, and the table shows no times for them at Sanpada or Vashi. If you want Vashi from the Thane side, look for TV.
This timetable is older than the Harbour one, so check the time-table page for a newer edition before you plan around it. The Mumbai local train guide explains how the two lines split at Turbhe. The Turbhe area guide covers Turbhe, which is on the Trans-Harbour line only.
Port Line
Central Railway’s Port Line timetable, shown as effective 15 December 2025, runs between Nerul or Belapur and Uran and does not list Vashi. To reach it from Vashi, take a Harbour line train to Nerul or Belapur CBD first.
Tickets and ladies compartments
The Mumbai local train guide covers ticketing, including the 2026 move of unreserved suburban tickets and season passes from UTS to RailOne as news reports describe it, and the ladies compartments on the Harbour line. Confirm fares and passes with Central Railway or at the counter. This page does not print a fare.
Getting to Vashi station
By road
CIDCO’s Vashi nodal plan shows the station building with the Inorbit Mall plot, a bus terminus and an auto and taxi stand close to it, all on the same side of the Sion Panvel Expressway. The sheet also labels Palm Beach Road near the Inorbit plot. The plan’s own notes say it is not a legal document and that roads and features are indicative, so use it to understand the layout and use a live map to drive.
The places to visit in Vashi guide reports that CIDCO’s development plan page describes the Thane Creek bridge as the link between Vashi and Mumbai. The toll plazas guide says the Vashi toll collection centre is on the Sion-Panvel Road, which includes the bridge across Thane Creek, and covers current charges. Check it before you drive to the station from Mumbai.
By bus and auto
The same CIDCO plan labels a bus terminus and an auto and taxi stand beside the station building. That tells you where they were planned, not which routes run today. The NMMT bus routes guide notes that many NMMT routes connect railway stations, Vashi among them. Route numbers and fares change, so use the NMMT BusTracker app that guide describes. The auto-rickshaw and taxi fares guide covers autos and taxis.
By metro
Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 runs between Belapur and Pendhar, and the Navi Mumbai Metro route map guide lists Vashi among the areas with no operating station. For Belapur, take a Harbour line train to Belapur CBD.
Parking
Central Railway’s timetable and station-list pages do not describe parking at Vashi station, so ask at the station before you plan to leave a vehicle. The places to visit in Vashi guide reports that Inorbit’s own page lists valet parking and EV charging among the mall’s services and does not publish parking charges. Confirm the car park’s terms with the mall before you leave a vehicle there for a train journey.
Around the station
Inorbit Mall and Sector 30A. CIDCO’s plan labels the Inorbit Mall plot beside the station, with other commercial plots next to it and a CIDCO exhibition centre label further west. The places to visit in Vashi guide covers the mall, its published information and what to confirm. Mall hours and parking charges are not on Inorbit’s Vashi page, and each outlet keeps its own hours. The Inorbit Mall Vashi guide covers the mall itself.
Centre One and older mall names. The plan still labels Center One in the station area. The places guide cites a June 2024 report that the mall had been demolished to make way for a commercial complex, so a label on a plan is not a sign that a building is open. Check any shop or restaurant before you travel for it.
Palm Beach Road. The Sanpada area guide, citing a government film location page, describes Palm Beach Road as the creek-side road linking Vashi and Belapur through Sanpada and Nerul. The places guide gives INOX Palm Beach Galleria’s address as Plot No.17, Sector 19D, Palm Beach Road, Vashi, from a District listing, and notes it is a separate mall from Inorbit. Match road names on a current map, because the Vashi plan and other sheets use several names.
APMC. APMC is a wholesale trading complex, not a place to wander. APMC’s own pages, as the APMC market guide summarises them, give Turbhe addresses for the vegetable and fruit markets and Vashi addresses for the grain and spice markets, and put the head office in Sector 18, Vashi. The CIDCO plan carries a wholesale market and warehouse area in its legend. Because the addresses split between Turbhe and Vashi, do not assume Vashi station is the nearest stop for your market. Ask the market office which gate and which session you need.
Waterfront and parks. The places guide covers Mini Seashore and Sagar Vihar, where works and access change, so confirm entrances with NMMC. Do not enter mangroves, fenced land or protected areas without permission. Use established public routes and follow posted restrictions.
Who runs what around Vashi station
Vashi is inside NMMC limits. NMMC’s history page says CIDCO developed Vashi among seven nodes, that NMMC was set up on 1 January 1992 and that nodes were handed over to it in stages from 1 January 1998. The ward-offices page lists the ward C office for Vashi at the multipurpose building, sixth floor, Sector 16A, Vashi, near the fire station, with the email amc_vashi_ward@nmmc.gov.in. NMMC’s header lists the helplines 1800 222 309, 1800 222 310 and +91 8291920504. A ward-office address does not tell you which ward your own building is in, so confirm with NMMC for an exact address. The areas in Navi Mumbai guide sets out the wards and nodes.
