Kamothe is an area in the south of Navi Mumbai, served by Mansarovar and Khandeshwar stations on the Harbour line. There is no station named Kamothe. Compare access from your exact sector and building before choosing a station. CIDCO planned Kamothe as a node and Panvel Municipal Corporation (PMC) looks after it as Ward C. This guide covers who to go to for what, how to reach Kamothe, and what to check in daily life there.
Quick answer: PMC’s ward-office directory lists Ward C Kamothe, and its History page names Kamothe among the CIDCO colonies inside the corporation. CIDCO’s nodal-plan index lists a Kamothe node. CIDCO’s Kamothe plan marks Mansarovar and Khandeshwar stations beside the rail corridor, and CIDCO’s 2026-27 budget statement lists both among the operational stations on the Belapur-Panvel line. Plan the last leg from the station to your building separately. Your current property-tax record identifies the assessing body. Confirm planning, water and other service responsibilities separately where needed.

Who to go to for what in Kamothe
Planning, civic limits and district are separate maps. For the wider picture, see what is Navi Mumbai and the areas in Navi Mumbai guide. CIDCO drew the nodes, PMC runs civic services inside its limits, and the state sets the district. CIDCO’s development plan page (in Marathi) lists Kamothe among its seven southern nodes and says the north now has a municipal corporation (NMMC) and the south has PMC. PMC’s History page says the corporation covers 29 revenue villages of Panvel taluka and the CIDCO colonies of Taloja, Kharghar, Kalamboli, Kamothe and New Panvel.
PMC’s ward-office directory lists four offices: A Kharghar, B Kalamboli, C Kamothe and D Panvel. That is the office structure. It does not tell you which ward or electoral boundary your own building falls in, so ask PMC if you need to be sure.
Your current property-tax record identifies the assessing body. Confirm planning, water and other service responsibilities separately where needed. Use this table.
| Matter | What decides it | Where to check |
|---|---|---|
| Property tax | The current property-tax record names the assessing body | Your latest tax record. For PMC, PMC’s portal and the Panvel property tax guide |

How to get to Kamothe
By train
Kamothe is served by Mansarovar (MANR) and Khandeshwar (KNDS) stations on the Harbour line. There is no station named Kamothe on Central Railway’s station list or in its Harbour line timetable. CIDCO’s Kamothe plan marks both stations beside the rail corridor. Compare access from your exact sector and building before choosing a station: test the route to each at the hour you would travel, including the last leg by walking, auto or bus.
Central Railway’s Mumbai Suburban time-table page links the CSMT to Goregaon to Panvel timetable, shown as effective 1 May 2026. It lists Belapur CBD, Kharghar, Mansarovar, Khandeshwar and Panvel in that order, and not every train in the table shows a time at every station, so check the stops of the train you plan to take. The Trans-Harbour timetable linked there, shown as effective 13 January 2024, lists the same stations and is older, so use the landing page for the latest edition. The Mumbai local train guide explains the lines and where to find live updates.
For long-distance trains, Raigad district’s How to reach page names Panvel Railway Station, in Raigad district, for main-line Indian Railways services. Check the stopping list of your train with Indian Railways.
By metro
Navi Mumbai Metro Line 1 runs between CBD Belapur and Pendhar, with 11 stations. The Navi Mumbai Metro route map guide lists the stations reported at opening, and none is named Kamothe. Future extensions are proposals, and CIDCO describes them in more than one way, so future proposals require current confirmation with CIDCO before you rely on any alignment. The Navi Mumbai Metro route map guide keeps operating lines and proposals apart.
By road
| Where to | Route to look for | Check |
|---|---|---|
| Mumbai | The Sion-Panvel road. Raigad district names the Sion Panvel Expressway as the link to Mumbai, and CIDCO’s Kamothe plan marks the road along the node’s edge with arrows to Sion and to Panvel | A live map for your hour of travel |
| Mumbai over the sea | Atal Setu. MMRDA says it opened for traffic on 13 January 2024 | Tolls in the Atal Setu toll guide, other tolls in the toll plazas guide |
| Pune | The Mumbai-Pune Expressway. Raigad district says it passes through Panvel, Khalapur and Khopoli | The Navi Mumbai to Pune road guide |
Documents number the highways differently (CIDCO’s plan labels NH-4B and NH-4, PMC’s draft development plan uses NH 48 and NH 4), so follow route names and current signs. PMC’s draft plan records parked trucks and multi-axle vehicles along the Panvel-Sion highway as a traffic problem, so allow for delays. For buses, Raigad district says MSRTC connects its major towns, and the NMMT bus routes guide covers NMMT. Confirm any Kamothe route and stop with the operator. For Navi Mumbai International Airport, the how to reach the airport guide and the nearest railway station to the airport guide set out the options.
Getting your bearings in Kamothe
CIDCO’s Kamothe plan is a map headed Kamothe Node, Navi Mumbai. This table lists what it marks and who to ask for the current position.
| Feature | What the plan marks | Confirm with |
|---|---|---|
| Stations | Mansarovar and Khandeshwar stations on the rail line, and Khandeshwar Plaza | Central Railway, for services |
| Sectors | Numbered sectors across the node | Your lease or tax record, for your sector and plot |
| Older settlements | Kamothe Gaonthan and Juipada Gaothan | PMC or CIDCO, for planning status |
| Industry | Jawahar Co-op Industrial Estate | PMC |
| Water and coast | Gadhi River, creek land, mangroves, no development zones and a CRZ-II boundary | PMC or CIDCO, for coastal rules |
| Neighbours | Kalamboli and Panvel as adjoining nodes, and Pushpak as another adjoining node | The area guides |
The plan’s own notes say it is issued for information, that locations are indicative and subject to change, and that CIDCO can modify the location and use of plots. Treat it as a guide to the layout, and confirm a plot, boundary or future facility with CIDCO or PMC.
Housing, shops and industry. PMC’s draft Revised and Comprehensive Development Plan 2024-2044 says most of PMC’s residential settlement sits in the CIDCO nodal areas of Kamothe, Kalamboli, New Panvel and Kalundre and the old Panvel council area, and that commercial development is mainly in Kamothe, Kalamboli and old Panvel. It describes Jawahar Co-operative Industrial Estate in Kamothe as reached through the Sion-Panvel Expressway close to Kalamboli junction.
Health. The same draft plan lists a state-owned primary health centre at Kamothe and names MGM Hospital, Kamothe, among two tuberculosis microscopy centres. See the hospitals for other hospitals, and check each address before you rely on a listing.
Creek and coast. Do not enter mangroves, fenced land or protected areas without permission. Use established public routes and follow posted restrictions. Before buying or building close to the creek, ask PMC or CIDCO whether coastal rules apply to the plot.
PMC services and contacts
PMC’s website lists helplines 022-27458040 / 41 / 42 and 1800-227701. Its head office is on Swami Nityanand Road, opposite Gokhale Marriage Hall, Panvel 410206. The site has pages for property tax, water tax, water supply and a Building Plan Management System, and for grievance registration, trade licence and marriage registration (see the marriage registration guide).
| Office | Address as listed | Contact as listed on 9 October 2026 |
|---|---|---|
| Ward C office | Kamothe | Email pmckamothewardoffice@gmail.com. Mobile 99671 95715. Landline 022-27458040. PMC’s map link for the office. |
That row is from PMC’s ward-office directory. It gives the address as Kamothe and links a map location, so confirm hours and forms with PMC before you visit.
Property tax. PMC’s portal at panvelmc.in lets you search by UPIC, by property number with node and sector, or by mobile number. Because Kamothe addresses run on sector and plot numbers, keep yours handy. The Panvel property tax guide walks through searching, paying and linking a mobile number. Do not pay through a link sent to you. Open the portal from PMC’s website.
Land records and police. Land records are a separate track from municipal tax records; the Panvel Tahasil Office is at the Talathi Training Center, Panvel 410206. Navi Mumbai Police lists 100 and 112 as emergency numbers. The police verification guide explains tenant and clearance services.
Living in Kamothe: a local checklist
| Decision | What to compare |
|---|---|
| Station access | The walk or ride from your building to Mansarovar and to Khandeshwar at your usual travel time, and the transport for the last leg at both ends. |
| Sector and plot | Your sector and plot as printed on the tax record or lease. PMC’s portal, CIDCO and the society all use them. |
| Mumbai by road | How you would reach the Sion-Panvel road from the building, and the congestion at the destination end. Check tolls before a regular drive. |
| Everyday services | Time the trip to groceries, a pharmacy, a clinic and the school gate. The city guides to schools, hospitals and parks and gardens cover Navi Mumbai as a whole, so check that a listing sits in Kamothe. |
| Building | Which water arrangement applies, lifts, power backup, parking and maintenance. In a society, ask the society. |
| Creek-side plots | Whether coastal or no-development-zone rules apply, from PMC or CIDCO. |
Prices are in the Kamothe property rates guide, which covers what portals display and what to check before buying or renting. For neighbouring markets, see the Kalamboli property rates guide, and the best areas in Navi Mumbai guide and Panvel, Kharghar and Taloja comparison compare areas.
Nearby areas
Kalamboli is under PMC Ward B and is labelled an adjoining node on CIDCO’s Kamothe plan. The Kalamboli area guide gives neighbourhood context. Kharghar is under Ward A and is the Harbour line station before Mansarovar; the places to visit in Kharghar guide covers outings there. Panvel is under Ward D, is the last Harbour line station and is also an adjoining node on the plan. See the Panvel area guide. Mansarovar and Khandeshwar are station names, not separate civic areas, so which civic body governs an address near them depends on the exact address.
